Roan or Varnish Roan?

This is not my horse, but a horse I found at another forum. There was a small dispute over the color of the horse. I claim that it's a Varnish Roan (the white on the body, the color of the hoof without the markings, the eye... well, basically everything :P Others seem sure of just ordinary Red Roan. I offered to post the photos here to get an answer from people who know more about equine colors, so I very much appriaciate all the replies I can get! As I assumed then.
Unfortunatly people around here find it hard to tell varning and true roan apart. A usual missunderstanding is that only horses with spots or blankets are leopard(/Tiger, as they are more known as here). Lots of horses with this coloring are therefore put in the (red, in this case)roan category.
