also chestnut

we had a horse at the BSA camp I worked at who was chestnut and had a grey mane..his tail was not quite flaxen, but not grey either..he was interesting

I like PRE horses because they seem to have a lot of things hidden under the grey that can pop out at any time!

Really cool looking chestnuts! Some of the pictures made me think of silver bay for a second, but the one super bright one looks chestnut for sure.

Before I read what they tested I too thought silver bay...that's why I asked because I wasn't sure about the letters totally meant and yep striped feet! (means?? Sorry I'm not as up with that as I should..my forte is dilutes)

I didn't mean she could be silver. I just thought it was interesting she has striped feet. We used to have a plain bay mare with striped feet.

A lot of PRE horses are quite unique in their color. I have also noticed that many of our foals are born with extra counter shading and leg barring as well as shoulder barring. Has anyone else noticed this? We have 5 different stallions and this is the case with all 5 of them.

I think that's why some people say the PRE horses have their own sort of dun isn't it? Because they have more than normal primative markings. It does look very cool!
