Re: Please critique

Have you got any of him standing square because you really can't tell a lot with them stretched out like that?

Re: Please critique

I know zip about minis, but if they are supposed to be balanced the same as non-minis? Lipi is right. The camped out pose hides rear leg conformation issues and makes their backs look too long. The only correct way is having him squared up all around.

It's not often sexy, which is why not many post in the conformation area. Stretching them out for some reason makes is more appealing to the eye or something. But not in horse conformation. Not real conformation.

Re: Please critique

It is a mini thing, they love the length & camped out/uphill stance.

I'll find some standing 'square' photos.

They do it in big horse breeds too. It's just not a pose that one can judge conformation from.

For sure. US arabians look like a gaited breed all camped out in halter There are ways -supposedly- but they are not accurate.

Re: Please critique

Here in Ireland, minis are suppose to be shown standing square..but many do that over stretch thing, which just make it look like they are trying to hide a hind leg fault. I think there should be penalties for it. :hammer

Kindness costs nothing, neither does a smile! :-) http://www.slaneyrose.com
