picture thread!

We haven't done one of these since the old EC crashed. So... use this thread to post a photo of yourself please. Let's see the faces behind the screen names. :popcorn Should we do families in this thread too (children and significant others) or should I start a new thread?

Jodi Fri, 05/22/2009 - 16:14

hehe and apparently I also did it at work where I don't have access to photos of myself so you're going to have to wait until tonight to see me.

lipigirl Fri, 05/22/2009 - 16:38

Ok this is me and my family taken at Christmas, it was a professional one and I have only just got the copyright for it - shows how fat I've got but hey !!!

I especially love the one of just the 3 of us on the left middle - Brianna is SO cute in it.

So there is me, my husband Alan and daughter Brianna she was 6 and half months in them (corrected age or 4 months), the largest dog is Aslan, then his mum Mouse who is older and finally my Chinese Crester hairless dog and best friend, Mini Minx.

They actually chose to use the one of the dogs and Brianna for thier own advertising. IT looks to me like Aslan has broken wind and the girls are talking about him !! :rofl It's a low resolution copy so not very good but it's the only recent one of us all - Hope you like.

Jodi Fri, 05/22/2009 - 17:22

Ah but how tall are you??? and thanks she is my angel (most of the time) I love Nanuk but sadly he was a gift to the ex and has to stay with him.

CMhorses Fri, 05/22/2009 - 17:25

I don't know how I looked relaxed at all! I was terrified! :laugh1 Mom made me ride him for the first time he was ridden ever since she has bad knees. I'm really not a very confident rider cause I'm just scared I'm going to get bucked or hurt.
I love all the pictures so far! Everyone looks great :D

hoofpick Fri, 05/22/2009 - 17:48

Love this thread! You guys look great!!
Knowing what you look like makes chatting to you more real - not a good choice of words but do you know what I mean?

TwinCreeksFarm Fri, 05/22/2009 - 17:50
I'm really not a very confident rider cause I'm just scared I'm going to get bucked or hurt.
Then why didn't you put on a pair of legit riding boots and a helmet, hmm? ;)

Here's the most recent picture of me looking like a clown in jockey silks.
And a picure from prom this year.

Heidi Fri, 05/22/2009 - 17:54

Wow! I loved seeing everyone's photos! Lipi, I loved the bottom pic of the three human family and three dog family in the same photo. Oh, heck...I actually liked them all, but I *really* had to laugh at poor Aslan's expression in the one pic, I think you got it spot-on about what it looks like and what the other three were saying about him. He just *looked* guilty!

Jodi, I think you look lovely...and for some reason, I actually prefer the first pic you posted. Your daughter, wow!, she is a knockout. Her eyes...no, her smile...no!, it must have been that dimple that drew me in!

CM, I couldn't view your page, it said it was 'private'. Hey! The pic of you in a blue ballcap on the horse...how LONG is your hair?!!!!!

TCF, your prom dress was beautiful! I remember my prom (mid-80s) was full of "big hair" and poof-y Disney dress/ball-gowns with huge, wide antebellum skirts!

Me, about 6yrs old. Please take note I *had* to wear BOOTS. The only ones available were Dad's workboots. But they were boots!

Heidi-My hair is down to my waist now.
TwinCreeksFarm- I've never invested in a helmet! Never used one so I didn't think about it, and its more of falling that I worry about, not hitting my head.I think I'd be able to hang on if he acted up but I usually just freak out when they start behaving badly. Very strange that I get scared when I used to ride when I could barely walk and all through my childhood. I used to have some boots but they got too small and I havn't been riding enough to want to buy another pair, but I will soon.

Jodi Fri, 05/22/2009 - 18:11

Hedi your so nice!!!! I love your pics but i also remember a pic that is so stunning!!!! your barefoot in an amazing flowing dress! Love all of them and honestly thank you for the kind comments! :D

Jodi Fri, 05/22/2009 - 18:15

CM I never had any fear untill I broke my wrist... It isnt uncommon to become afraid as we progress in age (altho your still quite young).... Now i am very aware of what I do! LOL

CMhorses Fri, 05/22/2009 - 19:17

Yea I'm only 18, I'm hoping that as Smokey progresses in training I'll be more confident. I wasn't really scared until we had a bad cart accident, even though it wasnt accually riding a horse, it was still scarey

Jenks Fri, 05/22/2009 - 19:21

I love these threads! Going to see what I have to post....

Heidi you must post the barefoot one - red dress!!

Love the oldy pics too. Wish I had some old ones to show....I will dig...

So where are you Sara - o starter of the thread? ;)

This is kind of shameful, but damn we looked good! This is my Barn! From left to right: Ashley, Liz, Morgan, and the owner's are Mark (middle) and Penny (blond on his left) Jamieson. This was at a Saddlebred show at the Horse Park we did. I'm all the way on the right. We're all tall ;)

My first dress photo:

*Poquita was a teen-aged Peruvian Paso mare my friend in CA gave to me. Poquita had advanced DSLD (which is called something different, now) but I was able to make her last 2yrs much more comfortable than ever before. Vet advised me to give her 'light riding' at slow speeds on level ground, just to get her moving and seeing things other than her corral. There is no cure for this degenerative disease, but I was able to make her feel comfortable enough that she would feel 'farty' in the evenings and she would run/buck for a short burst of energy around her grassy paddock. In May of 2004, she ruptured one of those rear tendons and I had her euth'd/buried.
She had become a "love" of a horse under my care. She went from an ears-back, stand-off-ish, leave-me-alone grump to an ears up and hey-whatcha-got-for-me (peppermints or scritchies) whinney and greet every visitor. When the vet came to euth her, we had two pairs neighbors with us to honor her in her passing. It wasn't just *me* who lost her that day, the neighbors (non-horse-y) felt like they had lost a pet, too.
See how she rocked forward and how flat her back pasterns were?

Jenks Fri, 05/22/2009 - 20:36

I love those!!! I must get in shape and get a red dress.....Khaos would look smashing in these pics ;) LOLOL

Heidi Fri, 05/22/2009 - 20:51

What size are you?
My red dress *runs to closet!* is a size 8. Also, my Renn dress bodice is laced on three sides so it is pretty versatile for fitting a variety of sizes. The overskirt is also laced, so it is adjustable, too. I want to find a tiara for the Renn dress.

If you'd like to borrow either for a photo shoot, I won't mind a bit! I also have a Renn tan colored bodice with dark chocolate/rust crushed velvet skirt. I have aqua colored crushed velvet fabric to make a more 'colorful' skirt for the tan bodice and I need to get some gold trim for the bodice to 'dress it up'. I'll get those finished one day.
Now is the time of year for these types of photos: horses shed into fesh summer-coats and the plants are greening up very nicely.
*Jenks lives near me and I've loaned her my cat-trap in the past, so it isn't like loaning things to a 'stranger'.

*I also have a man's Scottish Kilt costume...IF you can find a man who is secure enough in his manhood to wear it. ;)
My husband:

Jenks Fri, 05/22/2009 - 20:55

I'm inclined to ask for the husband on loan too......

Mine is Irish and he'd look pretty hawt if I could get him in those threads!

If I ever get the guts my dear....and get as good a seat as you? I will be begging fer yer red dress!
