palomino spot

I have a half arab palomino filly that has a lighter large irregular palomino spot on one side. The spot has black skin under it and it is not white but a light palomino color. Her father is a chestnut Arabian and her mother is a cremello appendix quarter horse cross. Tried to post a picture with no success...anyone ever seen this before-thanks!

Yeah, they're generally called "mismarks." They're considered random, with no obvious cause, but could be caused by uterine environment (i.e. pressed against the wall), etc.
