Palomino.....

Not having any luck with the Gallery- there are Sorrels and Chestnuts and all sorts of Dilutes but no the humble Cream + Red!! I need pictures of Palomino feet without white markings- ie no socks- one unaffected hoof will do!!

I think I have at least one Pally with solid feet somewhere. Where do I sumbit it to the gallery, or should I send it to you?

Dang RF, I just sold Goldie last month (she had 4 solids)...her hooves were a med. slate grey in color (not black, brown or blond). Come to think of it, all the "golden" foals have that same slate colored hooves, but the Isabella foals have a lighter grey (dove grey maybe?)...I will look when haying tomorrow.

Unlike with the stables other horses, I'm not 100% certain that he is a red dun. His owners say that if they wash him in the summer, you can see a dorsal stripe.

I'll betcha that I could find out if he's thrown any dun alleled foals or not, though. Or at least find out the colors of his parents...hmm.
You shouldnt need to wash him at any point to see a dorsal if hes dun IMO. Dun shows, and it doesn't go away.
Well, called up the owner and even though he doesn't show much of the primitive marks, his dam was a red dun, and multiple times he has produced red dun foals out of chestnut mares.

He is not a Red Dun he is Dunalino- they are usually lighter than this but they don't have to be.
Thanks everyone this has been very useful.

Sorry all. :<

I'm skeptical. Not saying that he can't be a dunalino just that he is very "bright". Most dunalinos are a more subdued shade and it is common for foals with countershading to be mistaken for dun. If I was breeding my mare to him I would consider him palomino until I saw test results or foal pics.
