Pally mare who looks buckskin!

My friend's foal pic was recently used in an online newsletter and when I was clicking through her site (foal, mare and herd-sire pics) I came across a mare who looked buck, but was listed as pally. ...I read further and she is tested ee Aa nCr If the pic won't show, here is her site, mare's name is Lil Sassy Anna (Vanna) on the mares page. http://www.apfund.com/collinsranch/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'll shoot her an email and ask if she has and/or could email me a few pics of her, though I don't recognize the building she is photographed in.

Well normally I would say she was graying, but that's not possible with her pedigree. I do believe she's pally (doesn't look buckskin to me), but I am surprised she's not graying.

XD gods I love Sooty some times. Why did they post her Agouti gene and not her Extension gene?

Sooty is funny, because normally we associate it with it dirtying up a horse from the top down. But I've seen bottom up, or just half way down the horse starting at the end. And even concentrated in patches or in the hair. There was a palo draft cross I have a picture of some where, that I swore up and down was some kind of strange wild bay + cream or minimally expressed dun + other modifiers. He had dark almost black hairs on the front of his knees and on his fetlocks. The owner was able to get my better photos and sure enough it was a funny shaded palo.

Most of the time, especially on red bases, sooty starts at the bottom. I've rarely seen it start on the top and not touch the bottom.

They did list her extension: "ee Aa nCr"

Her extension is "ee". Homozygous recessive extension, ee. Red, no black.
