Our 1st 2009 Cando Filly!

Forums

I was able to get some photos of this filly today, so you know I wanted to share them here with everyone. I have a pile of photos but I did my best to cut it down to just a few ;) Not really hard to guess what she is - Bay. Frame or not is still in question, so yes DNA test will be done in the next short while. She is nameless as of right now. So if you have some name ideas I would love to hear them. Must have "Cando" in it. Dams name is Limbo Star. Here she is -

Is Cando can-doe or can-dew?

Can-doe Limbo
Can-dew Mirabou (rhymes with caribou)
Can-doe Mirabeau (meer-a-bow)

I don't know why....Mirabou/eau popped right into my head when I saw her gorgeous face.

Oh she's a beauty! Congrats 8-)

Cando Starry Night (as in Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh - his most famous painting)

And possibly for her paddock name sTARry NIght = Tarni

Sara -Yes her dam is a TB as well.

lipigirl - I will post some photos of Cando for everyone to see, BUT I am hoping to do a whole new photo shoot with him in a week (so if that goes well I will post after that) Who knows I may have an other foal to post by then too :)

Dilutes - That name really hit a note with mom. She is slow to pick names so we will test run the name for a few days and see if it sticks. Thanks!

admin - Yes I took those photos. I am loving my camera!

Everyone - Thanks!

:love Congratulations!
One pretty filly in front of a a beautiful rustic fence. (funny that I am not the only one who is noticing that) They make quite the calendar picture. 8-)
A bit off topic but how to do you build a fence like that?
Its a "A" frame fence. You take two rails and make the / \ with a rail across the bottom. Once you have two "A"s done you take your top rail and put it top "V" Where the two sides of the "A" over lap. That will hold up the two of them. Then you add cross supports. *You can sorta see the cross bars in the looking over her shoulder photo. One cross support goes on each side of the fence. Add the rails between and there you go. Clear as mud?

I'd guess not frame for her, but as well all know it can hid very well. One little socklet and a very sabinoey star just makes me think not for some reason.

She's goooooooooooorgeous. Which is saying alot as I like white, and I don't usually like bays. :rofl

I dunno if you've picked a name yet, but I always thought a cando foal should be something like
Anything You Cando

Also, cando makes me think of music terms, like pianissimo, fortissimo, fortondoando, crescendo, sforzando (or szforzato), rinforzando, calando, da niente, marcato, cadence, sonata, serenade

I can do betterrrrrrrrrrrr!

I love it... Adell, if not for this foal you must save that name and use it later.

OK, I am back and sunburnt - I spent all day Sunday getting photos of all the horses I said I would get photos of. I got some working shots of Cando. He was at our trainers - I think some of you know of them. They are the ones that started my then black arabian stallion Decadence (now gelding). So anyways Cando went there for a week to get back use to being rode. With the arena collaspe last year, the clean up and the move to the new barn we didn't get to riding Cando (or anyone really) so he has been out of work for almost 18 months or so. Reuben rode him a few times to be sure that Cando remembered what was what before his wife Karina rode Cando. I got a nice photo of each of them riding. Here they are!
