Mushroom?

This was posted on the Free Speech Horse Forum (FiSH). What in the world do you guys think this could be? I'm kind of at a loss. http://www.kellas-stud.co.uk/mystery.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

maybe mushroom (and the fact that it is unexplained) should be in the articles here somewhere.

Welcome, Jordie, by the way! If you're interested in color you should stick around. :)

Oops, sorry I hadn't seen it on anything else!

HI! Sorry, I had previously been catching up on conversations (which means I need to do some more lol) so I hadn't posted a hello yet!

I am at a loss to explain why this should cause so much controversy.
It is not rare.
It has been around as long as the Shetland itself.
It crops up with amazing regularity in certain lines.
It appearsto be Red based.
The colour for reasons known only to themselves that these people describe as "Cream Chestnut Dun" is Red Dun + Flaxen, the exact same colour as Rabbit (who is registered Shetland).NO Cream at all!!
So I am not sure what all the fuss is about.....yes, it as yet has no test for it, so what??

Jordie, we welcome all questions which is what RabbitFizz was also probably going to say to you.
:roll:

Mushroom has been discussed before on the previous board and is crops up a lot but we are at present not sure about it.

That does not mean that your question was not valid.

Welcome BTW !!! :flower

Welcome Jordie. :newbie As you have probably gathered, uncommon colors are our forte'... :love

Oh and just because a subject has been discussed before doesn't mean we don't enjoy rehashing them from time to time (and with the current rate in genetic testing breakthroughs, we do actually come up with some new ideas). *-:)
