My father-in-law brought me some of his old papers and this was in it.  Dated April 5th in the McCurtain Daily Gazette.  Some of you may remember that this is very local for me.  I went to high school with Wendi Cox and the horses were held about 20 miles from where we live now.

Jaci Jackson pleads guilty in horse theft

A Broken Bow resident and former Southern Arkansas University student has pleaded guilty in the theft of five horses and equipment from the university's stables.

Jaci Jackson pleaded guilty Thursday to six counts of conspiracy to commit theft of property. Prosecutors allege that Jackson

hatched a plan to steal the horses from the university, where she was on the rodeo team. Jackson is represented by former District Attorney Rick Stout, now an Edmond resident. The two men accused of stealing the horses, Billy Hamilton and George Berrish Ill, also pleaded guilty Thursday to theft.

Jackson won't be sentenced until she testifies in related cases in Oklahoma. where the horses were discovered. One of the horses had been killed.

Jackson's mother, Wendi Cox was sentenced last week to 60 years in prison after a jury convicted her of theft in connection with the case.
