I cant wait to try to catch those shots.. Ok first off they had a trail class the this little girl maybe 6 yr old? and teeny!! had the coolest ponys one was this arab cross? I could not believe she did the dismount in the trail it was sooo far to the ground! Then I tried my hand at trying to catch reining slides and spins, not easy.. Then I went another weekend to a fun day, leetle scary lol lots of wild critters that are shakin off the winter wild? LOL This pony said NO i dont want to go.... [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/Paxo28/medowbrook032109153.jpg[/…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/Paxo28/medowbrook032109156.jpg[/…] then he gave in and the boys smile craks me up , he was scared to death, Im not sure he has ever riden much in his life LOL [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/Paxo28/medowbrook032109171.jpg[/…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/Paxo28/medowbrook032109173.jpg[/…] Then I went to a cutting practice, my home sweet home... however it was mostly team penners and they dont really have the grasp of how to do it , there was maybe 3 real cuttin horses there and the rest were jsut trying their hand at it which is great, I hope it sparks intrest in the area. My appy has always been scared to death of cows...he freaked out if he could even smell them in the area. So I gave him to a friend who wanted a horse to use at a cutting clinic. He spent 9 hours that day working cattle...and he's not scared of them since! :P

Ive had a few friends run into a few cow fearin horses, its easy to over come with some patients :)

A few more pics

A pretty painted arab

This little girl was having mega anxiety attacks( you can sorta see in her face) and her horse was awesome, I could not get a bad pic of it and his stride it was truckin!

Nice pics Heather! Looks like the show was a lot of fun. :D I especially love the boy on the rearing pony with no helmet and tennis shoes. :|

Heather Mon, 03/23/2009 - 16:40

yea I know but cant call the cops on that one, sorta just have to grin and bear it ...he lived to see another day anyhow .. ;)

Maigray Mon, 03/23/2009 - 16:58

Faaabulous! I love the pictures. The bay is very cool. That Arab cross has the typical hindend - popped up and looks a little straigtish through the stifle. I hate that, but it's a nice horse and looks beautifully presented.

accphotography Mon, 03/23/2009 - 17:30

My App was the same way about cows Horsegen. She came out of her skin if she even heard a moooo.

Maigray I agree about the Arab. It's that tobiano Paint back end I don't care for. Not saying they are *all* that way, but this one shows it well.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

Maigray Mon, 03/23/2009 - 18:23

I actually meant it as an Arab hindend..though you're right, I guess it's kind of a Paint thing too. Straight through the stifles and built downhill is like a stock horse thing, but the Arabs do tend to "pop" up on the backend and go for camped out behind.

accphotography Mon, 03/23/2009 - 18:53

I see. The topline, even at the hind end, is definitely not that of a Paint. However from the midpoint of the hindquarter to the hock is very much what I see in so many tobianos int he Paint world. There has been some discussion of late stating that conformation might be linked to tobiano. I don't think it's true in every case, but I think a pretty good number of Paint tobianos seem to have and pass on that look.

Heather Mon, 03/23/2009 - 18:56

I see that of alot of tobianos too, hard to say what it leans more tward .He was very groomed up and did great for the girl ...

Thanks for the comments guys, its been FUN, I cant wait to try the mounted shooting!!!

nerd Mon, 03/23/2009 - 20:53

Anybody going to hazard a guess on the pony? I see tobiano + (some sort of sabino/splash thing) on gray with dirt

Wear helmet, click seatbelt and make sure you have a working airbag. ;)

Those are great pics! Where are your fillies? Eh? You going to shoot them for us any time soon? I opened this thread expecting to see them!

Heather Mon, 03/30/2009 - 11:16

Oh it is really really fun! and they use a rubber cat toy for ear plug for their horses, pretty smart really, I told the guys ( bunch of good ole rednecks lol) "you know they make ear plugs for horses " lol you dont have to use cat toys :rofl :laugh1 ...they sell them in the hunter/jumper catalogs ... they didnt know ..you have never met a bunch of nicer folks, one guy invited us to a practice in SC in a couple week and he would let me use his horse and guns, I dont even have to drag my steed there, thing is my horse needs to go at this point and just hang around and get use to the sound at the very least... but I think this practice is falling on the same weekend as my cutting practice... grrr...now im torn.

Sara Mon, 03/30/2009 - 15:41

That's so funny about the ear plugs!

The photos are great -- you got the balloons popping! It looks like good fun. My horses would disagree, I think!

Jenks Mon, 03/30/2009 - 18:13

Ya, I don't think mine would take it well!

I have a network architect that keeps trying to tell me how to train em for shooting off their backs. Says there are not so loud pops I can get and growing ones to get them used to it slowly.

Heather Mon, 03/30/2009 - 18:53

I could not stop laughing tonight hubby got a cap gun from wal-mart in the toy section and when I rode tonight I used the cap gun like I was a bank robber , it was hysterical, god I wonder if the neighbors were watching, they have to think we are nuts. Id canter across the filed with my red tipped cap gun LOL :laugh1 pop pop pop

Heather, look for a guy named Bill Teilman from TN (http://www.geocities.com/stylishstables/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). He does CMS with two apps, one a stallion named Ten E C Silver (gorgeous boy) and a mare named Ima Plaudit (something along those lines, could have "Too" or variation after it). Ima looks very similar to my Misty mare, and they are related.

If you do run into them, tell them Diane from New Zealand says hi, and that you were to look him up.

Diane

Heather Tue, 03/31/2009 - 06:25

There were some appys there this weekend a few spot stallion? and a couple mares, I have pics of them I will put them up for you in a bit! very very pretty stallion and the mare was nice too! except for the typical rat tail LOL that drives me nut, they were super fit horses!

NZ Appaloosas Tue, 03/31/2009 - 20:16

Don't recognise either of those boys...10 EC Silver is aaaaalllll white, including mane and tail, I'm not sure what his base colour is (thinking chestnut based on inside ear colour at this site: http://appaloosa.myhorseforsale.com/ad_…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

I'm annoyed that the gun/pistol club here in NZ won't do anything to help bring CMS into NZ...they're "afraid" it's going to make things difficult for them with the police. :hammer :BH

That gypsy cob...if I were a bad guy and saw that coming at me, I don't know if I'd be standing there sh*tting myself for fear or laughter!! :o :laugh1
