Friends new filly, what color roan is she?

Black based something. With the body and eye color I might think smokey black, but I dunno. Dark bay/brown is probably the most obvious choice.

So you would call her silver brown roan pinto or silver bay roan pinto? She doesn't look like the other silver bays we have.....but I know they can differ.

What color do you think her dam is?

I dont see silver but shes a real cutie !

Dam looks to be black silver roan.

She says silver to me, but I dont know why.

I would suspect Cream in there, and that is what I would test for....mainly because I suspect the foal does in fact have Silver, and it is being suppressed by the Cream.
It is also possible that it is a Smoky Black Roan.
I've seen these horses before and I do like them!!!

I'm not sure about roan...she looks like she's going grey !!! IMO - foal looks like a brown bay tobiano to me

No chance dam is grey at all and if you look, she has the clasic roan features, dark head and points.

I agree - no doubt that dam is classic blue roan with silver (imho). I suspect this little lady would need to be tested to know what all she carried - cute as a button though... :love

Dam is classic Black Roan + Silver, no Grey, apart from anything, Lipi, you [i]know[/i]the effect Silver has on Grey :booty

I certainly do but I was on the fence with the Silver :booty !!!

Looking again I can see the silver but I didn't think she looked Classic Roan..and at the end of the day she could have been a roan going grey ! :D

The foal looks 'brown' tobi to me. Brown could well be black silver, smoky black silver or dark bay but I'm not seeing roan in the baby, only in the dam.

Looking again, I can see Roan, yes, and I am pretty sure the brownie effect is due to Cream on Black suppressing Silver, so come on, has she tested yet??????

That may take me a while to get her to do still. I keep metioning testing but she hasn't gone for it yet :hammer I have finally gotten her into even [i]trying [/i]to get the color right, LOL!!!! She can get very frustrated with the color thing so I always email her the link to the post I do on here in efforts to motivate her into learning more. It's working as she has asked me to post yet another..... :D
