Appaloosa gelding Free

My barn owner has a almost 2 year old gelding she needs to find a good home for. He's kinda a bayish color with white spots on his rump. His sire is a black QH and mom is a varnish chestnut? I think. He's shy as he's not been worked with since her husband died. He's not mean at all, just unsure. He leads and stands for the farrier. He's current on feet, worming, and vet. He hasn't been groomed consistantly and is in his shedding faze. He's also rubbed his mane off. He's got a full tail not the appy tail. She's just looking for a good home for him. He is free. She's not advertising at all. I'm just trying to lighten her load and she's afraid of letting him go because she doesn't want him to end up at auction. So I came here. When her husband was alive this gelding was a doll. The grandkids all stood around grooming him and he absolutely loved it. We're in California.

Andrea, how 'bout considering contacting the ApHC to see if they'd like the gelding as a raffle horse? I believe the owner would be able to get a tax credit for the value of the horse that way.

Again, talk to Merida (Me-ride-ah, is how you pronounce it). If she's not the person, she'll be the most likely one to point you in the right direction.
