Due to decreasing use over the years, I have decided to disable the forum functionality of the site.

Forums will still be available to view but new posts are no longer allowed.

Yay, I am here.

:bounce I am Thorwood from the old EC forum, was there for a few years. I am in Australia, I breed mainly ponies, which are Australian Riding Ponies, a cross bred based on the English Riding Ponies. In my little horsey family I have a wide range of colours including the usual, bay, brown, black & chestnut. I have cream dilutes, cremello, perlino, palomino, buckskin & smoky black. I also after much searching have a few nice silvers including 2 silver bay mares, a homozygous black silver colt & his black silver mum. I am looking to introduce tobiano and or frame to my "family", but so far unable to find what I want, type wise. Did have a beautiful splash/frame filly of Arabian/Warmblood breeding, who sadly broke her leg & I never had a foal from her. Anyway, look forward to seeing some old faces here & also some new ones.

Oh!!
Yes, well, green bouncy thing it is then.
Hi Tho' nice to see you, I only got here myself a short while ago due to having got myself stuck on the Forum that has just been deleted and only realising it wasn't the main Forum when it was about to be deleted!!! :rofl :laugh1 :rofl OK....most days I need an assistance dog to find my knickers, I'm ahead on points, I guess.

thorwood Mon, 03/16/2009 - 16:34

Lol, at Rabbit,
I hope you have your assistance dog with you today.
Luv all the smilies on the new forum & the photo albums are good too.
I am going to post the link here on all the Aussie sites I can think of, & hopefully get a whole lot of Aussies joining here.
I know there were only a few of us on the old forum, but there were plenty that applied to join up but never got a log in name.

Nothing much new here, it is Autumn, just starting to get a bit cold & rainy.
Not sure if you guys heard about our terrible bushfires, over 200 people killed & thousands of people left homeless.
Thankfully we weren't in immediate danger, but my parents evacuated from their house & several of my good friends have lost everything, but
their horses survived unharmed. We could see fires all around us.

Also, meant to say, my name is Amanda, Thorwood is my stud prefix, lol, but sounds a bit formal. :D

Yeah, I sent you a friend request on Facebook then forgot all about it, and when you accepted I had to ponder for a while "who is Amanda??"

Anyway, for anyone who doesn't know, Amanda/Thorwood has some of the most gorgeous ponies you will ever see.

thorwood Mon, 03/16/2009 - 17:00

Thanks for the compliment, LOL, well I love my ponies, :flower
They bring me alot of enjoyment, not to mention an introduction to equine colour genetics &
all the interesting people I have met here :rofl

I am so happy to have a colour forum back. I was away from Cyberland for about a month due to a dead computer &
was very sad :o to see the old EC forum had up & disappeared in my absence.

LOL, did you notice I am enjoying the smilies. :love
So happy we have a new forum, thanks to all involved.

Thorwood a very random question for you.... Do you know if the stallion Warrawee Dundee is still alive in Oz, he was a dark bay anglo, that bred some very useful arabian warmbloods, I last heard he was sold to Kirreway (? sp) show ponies. Actually I doubt he'd be alive now but I miss him and google never gets me very far.

Welcome to the forum!

thorwood Tue, 03/17/2009 - 17:39

Hi GW, thanks for the welcome.

As far as I know Dundee is still in the land of the living, he is 21, so not that ancient.
I did actually see him at Eric's a couple of years ago.
I checked some studbooks for you.
According the Riding Pony studbook Eric Dudley is still his owner, but I am pretty sure that Eric sold him a couple of years back.

Now, visit this link
http://ahsadata.com/studbook/memberdeta…
It gives contact details including an email for his current owners as registered with the Arabian society here.
Don't know if they are current, but worth contacting them.
Hope that helps & you can track him down.
Othewise, I will ask on our Arabian forum here if you like???

Did you used to own him???
He has produced some handy stock for Eric Dudley.

Cheers
Amanda

Thanks for that - after I posted I went off googling and found that too, so I will drop them an email and see how the old boy is. I was also able to track down a load of old broodmares and then I found these videos of my favorite colt who I think was a 2yo when I left Oz

It made me sniffle a little. I never owned Dundee just looked after him for Jenny back in 97 I think (? Getting old!!)
