Trip to Montana and back

It wasn't really a vacation as we only had a week to go all the way up and back, but we did get to see a few things on the way. Here are a few pictures I uploaded to facebook. Many of them were taken out the window of the truck going down the road. I was really surprised to see how many of them were fairly good pictures. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150220040324139.322908.51006…; I tried to set it to where anyone could see but it doesn't look like it worked. I'll try again tomorrow.

This was ice on Yellowstone Lake. Watching it and listening to the sound it made moving in the waves was amazing. I tried to talk the kids into going for a swim but they weren't having any of it.

Snow and ice in June in Montana, and the winter carnival in Queenstown here had to cancel some of the activities cuz there's no snow.

I think the ones your seeing were taken in the Badlands of SD.

It's pretty common to have some snow in Yellowstone in June. There was more than usual this year because they got a massive amount this winter and it hadn't all melted yet. I couldn't believe the drifts on highway 14 west through Wyoming. They were as tall as the truck in places.
