silly question

http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pid=3402794&id=35667248934&fbid=30…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; what's the point of a halter like that? I don't understand it... I suppose more control or something? What's it called?

It's kind of neat going thru the pictures and seeing the different control aids... like this thingy:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pi…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and this one that I actually understand and have used haha
http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pi…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and another that I've done before
http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pi…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Inigo got led everywhere with a chain through his mouth. I used two lead ropes -- one attached to the chain for control, another just attached to the halter ring -- and I tried to only use the one going through his mouth when I absolutely needed to. I held them threaded through different fingers like when you're using two sets of reins under saddle.

Pretty standard, albeit posh, halter....why do you find it strange? Just the browband?

Danni Wed, 03/24/2010 - 14:58

Our halters don't come with browbands, but I don't find that first pic weird either. I mean anyone can put a browband on a halter if they really wanted. I assume it's on there to 'dress' up the halter a bit.

I have just never seen a browband on a halter before. I didn't know if it was for fashion or some other reason :oops:

Don't be embarrassed, Krickette! I think they're trying to make it look fancier but it's really just a plain leather halter.

It actually doesn't look like a bad idea, I know the youngsters drive me crazy if the halter's a bit loose around the jaw and it keeps slipping down the neck.
