Hello all!
I usually lurk around allbreedpedigree.com's forums but they have been very inactive lately. To kind of introduce myself I just (re)acquired a 3/4 Arabian buckskin mare (oh my goodness she's already a mare). Tinkerbell is 5 1/2 years old. I knew her before she was conceived...I know it's silly but I did tell her mom before we bred her that I wanted a buckskin filly so I had one tailor made. She is pretty small, only about 13.3hh and hasn't grown in a while(I'm going to try to get the trainer to measure her as well as get some new pics) even though both parents are close to 15.1hh. We (her breeder and I) suspect that it may have something to do with while Sophie was preggo with Tink she coliced pretty badly. She spent at least a week in the horse hospital. When the vet tech (I know it should have been a vet) did an ultrasound they thought she'd lost the baby so they gave her some drugs that she wasn't supposed to have while pregnant. Total side note-Sophie seems to have bad luck with her pregnancies...the last one, which produced a very handsome bay colt who is for sale, she got kicked in the shoulder and fractured it (Not the working part just a chip but still). Anyway, it will be interesting to see if she'll get any taller. I'm hoping she fills out like her mom. I am located in Alaska currently (and hope to bring her up this coming summer) and she is in Oregon with a trainer. She hasn't done much in the past few years though she has been lightly ridden. So the trainer is going to get her basics all together, ground work, respect, desentizing as well as get her some undersaddle time. I'm wanting to make her a great trail horse, possibly fiddle around with local gaming stuff, possibly pack a bit and maybe teach her to drive. At some point in the future, several years from now, I may breed her and have been shopping stallions since she was born! Here's her trainer's FB page...his last few updates were about her. http://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/profile.php?id=237109636337136&_user=51650... Here is the most recent pic I have of her at the moment. When I get some better pics I will post her in conformation. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4570 Here is the first post from when she was about 14 months old. The pics aren't great but there ya go. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3591&highlight= So, if you come up with a cute registered name possibility for her, I would appreciate it...you can comment on her color, build, whatever...I'm just saying Hi with Tinkerbell!
