Silo is foaling!!!

Baby out! Mom did one heck of a job and is being a FANTASTIC mom right now! :bounce :bounce :bounce Baby has alot of white on the face at least and I know I saw some leg white. Looks dark right now.

I'm so frustrated! The camera won't load for me!

Hey Andrea, the call you got from Mare Stare (Laurie) was prompted by me. :lol: I thought for sure I saw her sac, but as soon as I had her call you (didn't have my phone close by) she got up and it wasn't there. :laugh1 Thankfully it appeared within moments. I knew she was ready.

No I haven't, but it is possible I missed it. If they could get her nursing she'd get better.

Baby's face is identical to daddy's on the right side. I haven't seen the left side yet. I'm 80% certain it's bay based. Can't tell if bucky or bay yet.

I'm like 90% sure I see a dipped tail. At least 1/3-1/2 of the tail (the bottom part of course) looks totally white. No, I reallllllllly don't think it's baby flaxen. It looks like a splash dipped tail. I can't wait to see what other white might be hiding in the glare of the cam!

i hate having to use internet explorer soooo much, that's why i stopped watching marestares in the first place. I miss it....

Krickette there is a "fix" for Firefox. Also you can use the standalone (which is what I use) and it plays much nicer than anything else.

The fix for Firefox didn't work for me and I wasted precious minutes trying it! Grrrr!

Ok well it's good to know I'm not the only one. You are only the second person I've heard say that so I thought it might work.

Have you tried standalones? It's fantastic and works on every system.

The fix is for versions of firefox before 3.0 came out I think...and I use chrome and opera mostly, they dont bog down like firefox does. And chrome has a shiny new beta! The standalone didnt work in chrome just because it automatically turned the address bar into a search bar, lol. But i tried in firefox, and it's all hunky dorey! Except, does andrea's barn *have* a standalone link listed?

I can get you any standalone link you need if it's not on the list.

If you make a bookmark by hand it will probably open the standalone right. That's what I do in FF.

It's a FILLY! She is the spitting image of Frodo right down to the skunk tail! She's got more of a feminine head which is great. She's got very large brown eyes. She is just too precious!
Silo did really well. I was stalling a bit as I didn't want her to hear my car and interupt the process. The barn owner was there on hand just in case. It was almost a text book foaling as far as I could tell. Silo was really uncomfortable after though. Silly me thought it was normal for the mare to be up and down like that. But this morning I called the vet first thing so he could check her and the filly.
After Silo pooped she was much better so I think she was a little colicy. Filly got the all clear from the vet and IG test was very high and all looks well.
Barn name for the filly is Ditto and she is bay. We're still thinking up registered names. Can't settle on anything yet.
She is very independant. After a little help getting up, she figured out her legs and was playing Mario Andretti cruising around as Silo was resting. This morning she was galloping from one end of the stall to the other. She's a hoot! And strong! Or I'm weak :lol:
I'm tearing the house up looking for my card reader. Grrrr. As soon as I find it, I'll post pictures!

Congrats Silo and Ditto!

Yeah, the horse next to them "Diesal" is a good boy. He's been around lots of babies and is really curious. Silo just needs to show him she's in charge. Hopefully he'll get bored soon. It's one of the bad things about foalling at a boarding facility.

ACC. I can't believe how accurate you were in Ditto's color. I can't even see that clearly on my monitor. I barely could see when I was there! Down to the tail!

Indeed you were Sara. Based on what I've seen she's a very light bay. Hopefully she'll be as bright as daddy.
