What pattern is this little mare?

Morgan Thu, 03/19/2009 - 13:30

Absolutly splash and tobiano, with that much white though frame and sabino might be there as well. actually looksing at that leg I think they might. what a curious pattern!

There is no obivious signs of Frame but when there is so much going on its better safe then sorry to know weather its there or not.

She is so bizarre in marking if it wasnt a mini I say hey, dont assume that tobiano is there! reminds me of that filly from last year or year before that was not tobiano and this heavy. it almost looks like a hz splash...gone wild :whip

Splash (it's erased off most of the Tobiano- that's what Splash likes to do) Tobiano- you can see what's left of it down on her hind leg) May have Frame (as Frame can hide and as Rabbit said test ) and probably has Sabino as it's there in pretty much every horse breed (even as a few white hairs on an otherwise solid horse..)

Two big ones for me that are most definitely there: Splash and Tobiano.

Ok, so I put deposit on this little mare! :love Like I need another one but I LOVE her color and want to get her in a better situation as her owners are in a bind right now!! Can't wait to see her clean and clipped!!!

Here are pictures of her daughter....what do you think of her?? I have not heard back yet as to what her sire's color was but looks like maybe cream in there on her face??

Stallion is Silver Black (pinto) not "grey".
I do not like the daughter as much as the mare...the mare is heavy boned but can carry it well, the daughter not so much.
The mare is one you will have to pick the stallion well to get the best result, I think.

I figured he was silver and not grey and she does look heavy bone to me too but will breed her with my buckskin roan Buckaroo grandson OR my friends solid black 28" refined little guy or her little splash pinto, hmmm. Oh and I didn't like the filly much either.... cute but I rather have NICE!

My fear is she has bred a Frame Overo last month and has not come back into season, as I am told. I worry she may be LWO too, which is why I am seeking to find out if there is a good chance she is. When I get her here, I will send off test for sure as well as decide whether I want to give her a shot of lutalyse.

Which boy..........hhmmmmmm

My vote would be for the solid black stud - I really like his look, the bucky cross would have TOO much going on imo and take away from the overall look of the foal (sometimes less is more).

I appalude your efforts to improve the life of our furry friends. I do the same thing and it has never been a mistake.
