Re: New appy foal on marestare...
OK, this is OT but...of interest, methinks.
I am breeding a few mares to a Fewspot this spring, a black, a silver black and a red dun (Rabbits colour, his daughter)
Both the Black and the silver black are h/Z, unfortunately, but it will give me some spots to breed to my new, blanket spot, bay base boy.
So foaling time will be interesting next year!!!
Oh, owner does not have any idea what base colour thew stallion is as he was pearly at birth, no markings, navy blue eyes, the whole nine yards!!!
I know his sire is black or bay base, I cannot fathom dams base, but as near as I can be sure it is Red, I know GDam is Red base, if I get all Red base foals I SHALL SCREAM!!!!! :hammer :BH :hammer

Rabbit, look closely at the inside of his ear (if it's not shaved), plus down at the front of the leg near the coronet band. Frequently fewspots have little tell-tale hairs in those places which give clues as to base colour (well, at least between being black-based and not-black-based).

Hay a thread about my boy :)
I did not have Sage (dam) tested for silver, as I tested her before the silver test was available, and completely forgot that fact... so little Shakespeare totally confused me at first ;) But I'm pretty darn sure he's silver black. here are some recent photos of him.

Re: New appy foal on marestare...
It absolutely must be black based (parents are ee aa and Ee aa). We need to find out from CheyAut if she tested that mare for silver. So he's either black or black silver.
