Color guess on this guy?
I agree with buckskin. The shading is right, and the face looks more like a buckskin mask than a dun mask to my eyes.
He looks Buckskin to me too!!! He is quite handsome!!!!
Just occurred to me he could be a smokey brown. That would explain the the face mask even more.
Sooty Buckskin for me.
I would say sooty buckskin too :)
Do they know he carries Cream???
He's not being marketed as carrying creme so I doubt he's been tested.
The color around the eyes is is very cream to me.
Hes got cream.
Dam who according to allbreed has no cream up close.
I just noticed this on his site:
"An AQHA registered buckskin, Joe also displays a unique strong blue roan color and gene. His trainers describe him as easy and always willing to please and a horse any level can rope off of. He is also 97% foundation bred. Joe displays the characteristics of the Hancock horses that I grew up with and those traits which are so valuable today. Joe's colt crops consist of roans, gruellos, buckskins, and palominos."
smokey bucky is my guess too
lovley!!! i vote sooty buckskin roan :love
Very cool. I would guess very sooty buckskin as well. I wouldn't have assumed cream 'till I saw the foal. He has a very beautiful front end.
Last pic on his website shows a hint of a dorsal, but that could easily be countershading as well... I'm confused :?
Smokey grullo roan?
I say test for dun extension and agouti status.
Roan very often causes a false dorsal. I've been in contact with the owners of this stallion and haven't seen a single dun foal (and she's sent me lots of pics). I've also not seen a single E_ aa foal, but that's not necessarily telling.
Maigray: He is pretty nice, and you should see his foals. I don't know why they don't have photos of them on his website. They are goooooooooorgeous. Very level (even for foals), balanced, correct, big hipped, nice babies.
