I thought you all might be interested in this phenotype. I think it's lovely.

This phenotype is only found in the Afghan and Saluki breeds.

The researcher who isolated
The researcher who isolated grizzle stated that it only occures in those two breeds.
Its main difference from the dog you posted is the light muzzle that ends in the "widows peak" and the light color on the outside of the legs. Your dog is EM because of the mask and either at sable or aw I'm not that great at telling them apart yet. You could probably tell by looking at the hair as sable is black tiped where as aw will have alternating bands.
I have permission to use more photos so I'll get them added to the gallery in the next few days.

yeah...this dog had a much darker head. She was a dropoff here and we would have kept her, but she started chasing the horses. Nice enough dog otherwise. I called her a sable when I had animal control come pick her up, but wasn't even 100% on that..LOL
So, what are the "grizzled" Border Terriers then?
Just going by this site
Just going by this site http://www.borderterrierrescue.com/about.htm It looks like what they are calling grizzle is actually an fawn/sable dog. They would be ay at agouti. The particular dog in the picture is also EM.
so pretty. Kinda reminds me
so pretty. Kinda reminds me of a dump off we had here a few months back...GSD (or GSD cross most likely)
No clue what you'd call her color though?
