at the BSA camp I worked at we had a paint gelding named Paleface that had a phoenix on his side...unfortunately I don't have any good pictures showing it off :(

Nope. He has black skin and hooves so most likely not much white. He looks gray with bloody shoulder markings to me.

We don't really count bloody shoulders as a mismark... they're incomplete penetrence of the gray gene (in theory). Mismarks on non grays tend to be of another color whereas on grays it's always the color under the gray.
