Re: another I love this stud thread, jumper style!
Even from two Oldenburgs the foal would have to pass an inspection so you're right, Oldenburg papers are not automatically guaranteed. Even if the foal is terrible I could get a birth certificate though.
Diana is trickier because she's grade so I could get her inspected by Oldenburg and have her put in the ISR book, or maybe the Holsteiner studbook has an option for grade mares. I'm only really familiar with Oldenburg and ASPR.

Did you see that they have conformation shots from the side, front and back available to view on his website? How often does a stallion owner offer up THAT? He's siring conformation hunters as well as jumpers. I've looked at his offspring (all plain bay like he is!) and I'm really really liking him.
So, tell me about his hip! What do you see?
Re: another I love this stud thread, jumper style!
Look how low his stifle is! The line from the point of his hip to his stifle is long. This is a "long hip" or "low stifle", and the conformation aids :
Low Stifle/ Long Hip
* A long hip is created by a long femur which drops the level of stifle to or below the sheath line on a male horse.
* Favorable in all sports except sprint sports and draft work
* Enables the horse to develop speed and power after it gets moving.
* The muscles of the hip, haunches, and thighs will be proportionately long with a long hipbone, giving the horse the capacity to develop speed and power over a sizable distance. Produces ground-covering and efficient stride in all gaits.
* Good for eventing, steeplechase/timber, flat/harness racing, jumping, and long distance riding
It's the exact opposite of a QH who with the high stifle can get moving quickly for sprinting.

Ooh la la! Very nice!
So a foal by 2 Oldenburgs is registerable automatically, or do they need to pass inspection? I get confused on which breeds need inspection.
