"Gambol" was born 4/3/09 around 12 p.m. His delivery was unattended but his maiden mother did fantastic! He looks like he'll be black with two blue eyes, 4 whites, a wide blaze/apron face, and a spotty/lacey bum. How weird is that? It was everything I asked for! Here he is.. pictures taken yesterday. I'll post more when he gets his first turn out. Thanks everyone!
And Sara, yeah we were.. She didn't think too highly of him (squealed and struck out, missing) at first but she loves him to death now. Probably from being a maiden. Good luck with Isabelle's birth!
I had no idea this foal was coming, hence unattended! About a week ago I think she went into false labor (waxing, relaxation, colic symptoms but definately not colicing) and had me all confused. Then Thursday night when I fed she seemed normal. I didn't check on her in the morning (first time in about a month, of course! ) because my mom was home to feed that day, and got a call around 12:40 that Tiger had her baby and to come home asap. Yeeeeesh... we were lucky. Thank someone!

So who's giving him the blue eyes? He's a total cutie, btw :HB I'm on the fence on his colour, simply because I think he's gonna be like little Ms Ebony and keep you guessing until you cave and colour test.

Never mind...the final couple of photos finally loaded for me, and I can see who gave him the big ole blaze and blue eyes! LOL
the squeeling is not really displeasure, but excitment ...alot of them do that the first day.
My mare and her foal still do that, and her foal is now 3.

Thanks everyone! And the updated photos will come when he has his first turnout. ;)
The poor boy got sick yesterday! We thought he was just impacted but he had a high fever (104 -- he was laying in the sun too though) and diarrhea. He was weak and laying down alot. He was doing fine last night though (fever went down to 101.6), bouncing around and trying to kick me already! This morning he's been doing well, had a 100.5 temperature and still pretty active. Just gave him some more antibiotics and have to go back out to give him his bio sponge to help solidify his poops. Looks like he's coming around fine... :ympray:

Thanks!

And Sara-- his naval was dipped once by me and I think again by the vet. I think his sickness was related to some abrasions on his back right leg that were there when we found him. A smidgeon infection must've gotten in there. He's still doing well though! And more pictures tomorrow, promise. ;)
