LOOKY!!!! A TOVERO!!! :rofl :rofl Sorry Rabbit, I had to!!

Not a doubt in my mind that's tobiano + frame. And a chestnut!? :BH :laugh1 If you wanted a chestnut then congrats, but I suspect when one breeds black to black, they hope for black. :laugh1

Precious foal regardless. CONGRATS!!

Well dang, didn't the colour fairy hit that foal hard with her wand! Guess you now know for sure that mum and dad are Ee :angel

That's what happens when a colour fairy hits hard for pattern--wand busts and the wrong colour pops out! :laugh1 :rofl

I did know both mom and dad were Ee, but was indeed hoping for a black foal. Oh well, maybe next year. Then I probably won't get the pattern. :hammer

Well don't forget tobiano is linked to extension, so it is HIGHLY likely the only tobianos you'll see from the mare will be chestnut.

Or rather ?e depending on the sire.

accphotography Wed, 03/18/2009 - 23:06

True... so there is 50% chance of getting a black tobiano from this sire (if she throws her tobiano) so a total of 25% chance of a black tobiano.

Morgan Wed, 03/18/2009 - 23:45

haha! congrats! That's really cool , not only getting one of the les probably combinations but to breed two minimals and get such a loud foal wow!

25% black
25% black frame
12.5% black tobiano
12.5% black tobiano frame
12.5% red tobiano
12.5% red tobiano frame

That is so cool. I have a friend with a black stallion, who was bred for black, and who has been bred a number of times to clients' mares and always thrown black. She bred him twice to her own mares last year and ended up...with 2 chestnut foals. Mares were a grey and a black, respectively.

Bannerminis Tue, 03/24/2009 - 19:52

I like him no matter what the colour - nicely marked and a cracking little foal - congrats.

lipigirl Wed, 03/25/2009 - 09:40

Congrats...my friend used the same stallion and was very pleased with what she got over here.

Thank you. I had forgotten that my stallion had a foal in England until you mentioned that.

[quote]Did she get black or chestnut? LOL

I saw a picture of it once and it is a very nicely marked Black and White colt out of a Black and White mare. I don't know its LWO status. Would love to see more pictures. I hear he has done quite well in shows over there.

Congrats Songcatcher on a lovely patterned foal - color not withstanding. Oh, and if you don't want to go with "Blackie" I am sure "Jet" or "Raven" will work as well... :laugh1

 I did consider "Walking After Midnight" which would go along with our theme of song titles, the time of birth, and tie in with his sire's name, Rowdy Night Image. However, I think we have settled on Songcatchers Mr Bojangles.

Songcatcher Wed, 04/01/2009 - 14:40

I decided to do the LWO test on this boy and just got the results.

He is negative for Frame.
