Tobiano Question..

Is it odd for a tobiano to have a white tail with no other white around it? Also she does have the streak of black in the tail, and she is a miniature.

Cool, I was just wondering if she was anything other than tobi and if something else could have caused that.

yup. tobiano and splash are the culprits for white spotting in the tail. tobiano taking the middle or top of the tail and splash the tip (kind of like it's dipped, like white tail on a dog or cat).
speaking of that, passed by a field the other day and there was a calf, black with a baldy face and it's tail was all white from right at the dock down then with a black tip. it looked pretty funny as if it was wearing a white bandage.

This mare is lab tested Tobiano and she has no white above her knees/hocks except for in her tail (other than a little bit of roaning).

yup, why is it minis get all the really funky phenotypes :sad , I want a big (ish) horse I can ride in a random colour.

Are there any big horse breeds that do wierd things to colours?

I know morgans are usualy strongly sootied, thats quite cool.

Gypsy Cobs can do some pretty funky things with patterns, it is, I think because, like Minis, they are indiscriminantly bred, with pattern the only goal.....

different bloodlines of Paints do different things with the patterns. Your best chance of something like that would be one of the cow bred horses ( I cant think of the exact lines atm..). They come in almost solid tobiano.
