2009 Foals

Forums

So who has 2009 foals that are on the way or already here? I know Sara has one due. Who had the mare bred to the gorgeous appaloosa stallion?

critterkeeper Mon, 02/16/2009 - 11:59

I only have two, both chestnut bred to a cremello so I can only get palominos: Maya and Valley (not an intential breeding - the witch broke down the fences to get to HIM  X( )
All of these were taken last year -- I know, I know, I need to get more pixs. I PROMISE, I will get the camera out and put it in the truck so I will have it handy (unfortunately, my phone pixs don't translate into good pixs).

Maya

Valley (with her exceptionally dark coloring, I can't wait to see if it turns out to be a dark golden pali - any bets it is one of those black/grey maned palis?)

and "Daddy" (being embarrassed about wearing and old hand-me-down halter so he could get his hooves trimmed  =; )...

TwinCreeksFarm,

Oh yes that is that gorgeous stud. I used to not think much of appy colored horses but that full leopard pattern has really grown on me. I can't remember what pattern where you hoping to get out of the cross?

Critter,

I can't remember does your boy have any white? Or are we expecting two mostly solid pallies?

I can't wait to see pictures of everyone's babies!

TwinCreeksFarm Mon, 02/16/2009 - 17:59

A top heavy blaze with four high whites and a spotty bum on a black colt. :D You think I'm being too picky? lol.

Daylene Alford Mon, 02/16/2009 - 19:45

Nope not at all :D I have one foal due this year also and it will probably be my last for a long while. It will be by Streak who I gelded in Nov and by my old mare Who will be 22 this spring so this will be her last foal.

I've got my fingers crossed for a dunalino filly. The Dun from Streak and the creme from fire. Streak is Ee so its a possibility.

I'm starting to wonder if I didn't make a mistake when I gelded Streak (probably not in this market) but I really like the 2008 blue roan colt by Streak out of Fire. As soon as he starts to shed off and not look so shaggy I'll get some pictures.

All three that I posted (both mares and Luna) have white. All have a sabino-ish star (Maya's tends to look a bit odd with it being pentagon-shaped) and Luna has rear med-high white boots (not as tall as Destiny's but taller than a sock) and a strip although sometimes I think he has socks on the front too (LWO neg.). I am looking for a sabino pali and possibly splash from Luna, but not sure as his white is VERY difficult to see except when he is very dirty and then only when wet - and there is no way to tell if the edges are clean, jagged or roany.

I have one foal due out of my mini mare Slaney a palomino mare (possibly Dunalino) and Teddy and Chestnut stallion.

Krickette Sun, 03/01/2009 - 20:54

dawww!!! chunky minis are so cute!!!
i miss mine. they sure are easy keepers, lol.

Morgan Tue, 03/03/2009 - 18:27

awwww, what a cute piggy

TCF, I'm sure glad I'm not a show judge, I would be waaay to distracted by those spots to even see what the horse was doing! He's gorgeous... @-)

No foals for me. I can't have another horse and I won't breed if I have to sell right now. I need to concentrate on the ones I have anyway, as cute a foals are. I feel bad for my mare though, she's a big baby machine and seems sad on her years off, at least she still has V around so she's not too unhappy (even if V is nearly as big as her already :D ).

( they both carry red )

supaspot60 Wed, 03/04/2009 - 19:03

Panache is in foal to Dazzle ( both 50% american mini ) and both carry red

Krickette Mon, 03/09/2009 - 00:27

i want more pics of scooter!!!! He's gorgeous! I love his eyes! There's a horse on another forum I was on that was solid black with blue eyes, but she was a quarter horse. I want one so bad! I wonder if I could just convince a horse to wear contacts, lol!

critterkeeper Mon, 03/09/2009 - 12:31

:o I had to look twice at the pix of Dazzle - in that one she looked like a HE! =))

Bannerminis Mon, 03/09/2009 - 13:43

Dazzle is a "HE" the pic above him is the mare he covered before being gelded

supaspot60 Mon, 03/09/2009 - 20:25

   Dazzle will be offended !
most pix I have of Scooter (aka Micatos Milltown Magic) are too far away to see his baby blues! but heres a couple to keep ya happy :D

Bannerminis Wed, 03/11/2009 - 04:19

Scooter is a gorgeous boy and last yr really looked fantastic - well done to you Sue and Patrick. I cant wait to see him this yr :D

With Lace being red based, we're guaranteed a palomino. She's also frame+splash+sabino so hopefully we'll have some icing on the palomino cake.

Here's Lace for any newbies:

Lovely matches!!!! I look forward to seeing the foals, whether this year or from years to come.

I bet it will be one gorgeous splash baby out of Frodo and Silo!!!!

Sara Thu, 03/12/2009 - 22:32

ACC, I didn't know you had finally made a decision!

Andrea, it will be interesting to see who your baby takes after since your ponies are two very different types.
