What about Old English Sheepdogs? Aren't they herding dogs or are they considered guard dogs and that is different?

I can't see color making a difference. If that was the case black sheep and goats would fear one another. And Gaurdian or Shepard dogs prove that they do not associate dark colors as predators. However most livestock gaurd dogs are raised with the live stock species.
