What colour is my Miniature Shetland gelding?

A while ago, I posted pictures of my Mini Shetland when he was about 5 months old and people told me he was definitely bay, but now that he is nearly 2, he is still a very random colour. He looks nothing like his bay mother did when she was young so I'm a bit confused.

This picture is very recent. If you need anymore, just ask.

Is his skin speckled?  It looks a bit like it in the photo but I can't be sure.  Do you have a photo showing the mane and tail?

His skin is speckled and he has about 3 white spots on his bum. He is also registered. I'll find some better photos

as soon as I can but I hope these 2 will help a tiny bit

The Appaloosa Characteristics (aka Leopard Complex or simply LP) are most likely the reason his bay coloring is a little "off".  Appy is known for doing that sort of thing.

He is about 9hh and I checked the wrong pony's paper's; he's not currently registered. These 2 photos are from around July- August. In the second photo, you can just about see one of the white spots on his bum and his stripy hooves.

Well, I am sure there is an Appaloosa Society you could register with, just for fun if nothing else! Whereabouts are you?
