Owned by a friend of mine, colour?

sire buckskin tobiano, dam black and white. The yearling filly is testet buckskin but mane tail are partly red and partly black. legs are red/reddish. Any possibility that one of the parents hide something, or did any of you see a buckskin like that?

I definitely know I've read of brown pointed buckskins as well as black pointed buckskins - is there any genetic difference or not much?

If the mane and tail were more solid brown, I might guess possibly a classic champagne buckskin. That would explain the brown points.

Brown points on a buckskin, while not common, are not unheard of either.  I think she's just buckskin but I would like to see additional photos after she has finished shedding.

I have had a number of Buckskins in my time and I actually have yet to have one with real black points. My Section B mare (Welsh) had browny legs and a grey mane and tail (no Grey genetically)
