Palomino Colt foal from solid parents with a white hoof

I have a colt out of Shadowplay Sahara Moon a solid Dunalino by Birchwood UK Buckaroo Banner who is a solid Buckskin. I was had the vet out to do the foals passport and while checking hoof colour we spotted that his right hind is still white with no hint of change. The other 3 hooves are changing colour but the right hind is the same as the day he was born - he is now nearly 5 mths old. His dam was bred by RF and the stallion is american breeding. I have never found white on either parent. Banners dam though is LWO+ and looks to be splash and sabino. His sire is solid - buckskin. Here is Warrior The hooves - although not great as taken rather quickly with the iphone - first pics show how his hooves are changing but the white hoof has not changed nor does it look like it will change His Sire [IMG]http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t35/Minimad1/Miniature%20Horses/Bann…] His Dam [IMG]http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t35/Minimad1/Miniature%20Horses/Slan…] And then to show you Banners Dam as she is the only immediate horse in his lineage with a pattern [IMG]http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t35/Minimad1/BirchwoodUKMissRemarkab…] [IMG]http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t35/Minimad1/BirchwoodUKMissRemarkab…] [IMG]http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t35/Minimad1/BirchwoodUKMissRemarkab…]

Do any of them have non-pigmented spots on their soles? I've seen a breed that wasn't supposed to have much, if any, white and they checked the bottoms of the feet. I think it's also theorized that white markings start internally so that might be the reason or it popping up despite the fact that neither parent showed anything externally. Also, the sire is buckskin so the black pigment perhaps suppressed some white?

I am really going to have to check them both out hoof wise. I have obviously cared for their hooves and picked them out and washed them but a spot of white has not jumped out at me but then maybe I wasnt really looking at the colour.

I am also considering testing Banner for LWO and I know its only a drop in the ocean but I might test for Splash. Banners 1/2 brother was splash - well actually they are more then 1/2 brothers because as well as having the same sire their dams are 1/2 sisters (same sire - La Vista Brilliant Remark who is LWO+).

I swear these minis have some sort of colour genetics plot to torment us LOL

I second the suspicion of a mini color conspiracy. The little fuffs have it out for us on this forum especially. It would be neat to see if this little one has anything testable hiding. Banner too.

I have finally sent off the hair samples for Warrior and he is being tested for Dun,Splash, SB1 LWO and Agouti (only as his sire is a Buckskin and I am interested to see if he got a copy)
Warrior has gone to his new home and as of the day he left that hoof was still solid white and the others hadnt changed a lot but were changing.

I haven't been on here in a while but just to let you know that Warrior tested negative for all of the above.  I was really hoping something would show up but ZILCH.

Oh well will have to see what that pair produce next yr LOL

We know that white patterns can be very minimal and he may have a white pattern for which there is no test.  It is interesting though that he has a white foot and no face white.

Yeah I reckon that he must have something going on.

His 1/2 sister is a very obvious Splash Sabino but even though her dam tested positive for Splash and Sb1.  The filly tested negative for Spalsh.  I didn't test her for SB1.

So either the dam has 2 types of splash or the stallion carries a form of splash that cant be tested for.

Here is the Fillys Dam Shimmer - She is Homozygous Black and is also positive for Splash and SB!

And then the Filly who has more chrome then her dam with 2 high whites and a blaze

So this is why I am wondering if he is carrying something that is either so small its like looking for a needle in a haystack or carries it but does not express it
