Got my results for Buck

Well I finally sent off hair for Buck to UC Davies and I tested him for Dun (sent in Slaneys hair too) Red/Black and Agouti. His Results are as follows: Banners Moonstruck Buck Red-Factor Result: E/e - Both black and red factors detected. Either E or e transmitted to offspring. Basic color is black, bay or brown in the absence of other modifying genes. Agouti Result: a/a - Only recessive allele detected. Black pigment distributed uniformly. Basic color is black in the absence of other modifying genes. D/N - Horse has one copy of the Dun gene. Horse will transmit Dun gene to 50% of the offspring. So it was as we guessed he is a Smokey Cream Grullo. Here are a couple of more pics of him at 9mths old. I am very pleased with him :love

His dorsal was really only visable for the first few wks and then disappeared under all the fluff. I havent clipped anymore of him yet so I cant say if there is any sort of dorsal visable. Will let you know if I find one.
