She's a Tervuren Belgian sheep dog. Can we say "sooty much?" LOL And no, we didn't name her, she's already 2.5yo, just thought y'all would like the fluffy-puppy photo too.

A Terv, wow, did you post adult pictures too?
Why a terv Diane? Did you just like their looks, or does she have a job to do?
I have only had one terv, passing thorugh. Rescue in my neighborhood knowd to find me for anything Dutch or Belgian. She was a doll but I am too lazy to be a longhair person. ~x(

Hubby's got a history with the breed, this one has her championship title already, but hubby wants to do some finishing stuff with her, as well as get into agility. The last 2 photos of her are adult photos.

I'm not normally a long-haired dog person either (enough to take care of my own long hair!), but I'm finding her coat not difficult to maintain at all...it's not quite as long as say lhasos and the like. The behind-the-ear area seems to be the only place likely to matt, and I just give her a quick brush-up every evening.

Welcome to the wold of Belgian Sheepdogs :) I have two Groenendaels. They are a fun breed as long as they have an outlet for their energy! Your Karma is beautiful. What kennel is she from?

Belgians are an interesting breed genetically as they have both a dominant black AND a recessive black :) Both of mine would be dominant black and Tryst, I am fairly sure, carries a terv gene from her dad's side (though she is spayed and I will never know for sure), and most likely Maddie is homozygous for black.

I do obedience, agility and conformation with my two
(well no conformation title for Tryst and Maddie is retired, but I have in the past done conformation with Maddie)

Maddie is 10 years young (Champion, agility, rally and obedience titles)

And Tryst (Maddie's daughter) is now 3 (though photo from about 11 months old) and in training for agility

Thanks, I'm enjoying her...when she decides I'm capable of typing by myself, undressing by myself, using the loo by myself! LOL

Hubby's returning to them, he's had both grons and tervs in the past, as an owner, exhibitor, importer and breeder...he helped bring the breed to this country, in fact. He's planning to get into agility with her at some point, I've too bad an ankle to do that sort of stuff, unfortunately.

She's from a breeder in the north island, from imported bloodlines. From memory, French bloodlines, and I can't remember where else...I want to say Norway, but not 100% sure.

Thanks. Her stay button is currently broken, so we're working on repairing that. She also gets "not-good" confused when one of us leaves...paces a bit before she settles down. But she'll get over it, eventually....I hope...
