What shade of Silver????

Had this little boy born a few days ago. Posted him on my FB Colour group & know a few people from here have commented, but the more opinions the better. I will test him in a couple of weeks. He is either black or brown(seal). I am leaning more towards brown, what does everyone think. He actually isn't as reddish looking as the photos seem to show. I also vote brown...and what an adorable little fella :toast with a very cute star. Talk about minimal white... :love

Hmm, I'm still going to say black silver from these pictures! Of course he could be a very dark brown, so close to a black that the difference be negligible, but I'm still going to make the call of black silver! My black silvers sometimes have a slight reddish tone so it's not impossible I reckon! But yeh just as likely to be brown

Very nice- but I expect that form you now!
Possibly this would explain how Silver went unnoticed in Welsh- this one looks a lot like the Palominos that you know aren't Palomino, that I have seen over the years!

Thanks everyone, he is rather cute & yes in the flesh he really does look like a weird chestnut or odd shade of pally. I never seen anything quite like it, but then I haven't seen many silver foals. Mind you the ones I have seen, including the 3 I have now bred have all looked totally different.

I have a feeling this funny colour is just the "dead" foal coat that is about to shed. Stand by for more pics when he starts to shed.

Yes, I was going to say Silver Brown- I am getting better at this!
I am actually far better at flying by my instincts than I am, these days of keeping up with the techno stuff- how much is it going to cost me to get one of these home??

:rofl LOL, not sure anyone would give me $5 for him at the moment, he looks like a hairy, chocolate pudding.
He has gone back to a dark chocolate colour with white mane & tail, so I think he will keep good expression, unlike his half bro who doesn't look all that silver at all.

I had a filly that color, out of a silver dapple Shetland cross by a homozygous black, and she was adorable. Unfortunately we lost her, a tragic accident.
