Tuff Drifter Music 4 year old Paint

Figured I'd put Drifter up here to see what ya'll thought of him. I know he has faults and I know what they are, but what horse doesn't have a few. The one I have of him recently is just one side (left) and he's a bit on a down hill slope. I really hate how they redid our driveway. Grrrrr! So anyways, here's the best squared up pic of him I have. [IMG]http://i360.photobucket.com/albums/oo49/SpiffyGrl/Drifter/Drifter05-04-…] And here's another, but he's tacked up. [IMG]http://i360.photobucket.com/albums/oo49/SpiffyGrl/Drifter/Drifter05-05-…] If I can get him to square up more often with just me taken the pic and no one holding him I'll get some right side, front, and back pics for ya. Enjoy! Added note: His feet have been trimmed and shod since these pics, so if any faults are due to his feet they are better now. :)

Since no one else has taken a shot at this I guess I will. I drew some lines on the photo for reference. His shoulder isn't idea but its not terribly straight either. The inside shoulder angle looks to be about 90 degrees. Ideal is greater than 90. His loin is very long. In fact its the first thing I notice when I look at him. Some of this may be a bit of an illusion because of the way he is standing but I think it would be long even if he was standing level. I marked the hip angle but to be honest I can't remember what is considered ideal so will skip that one. The length of his hip seems good but I can't really tell his croup length because of his white marking. He seems to be just a bit camped out in the back but not bad. His neck is a short compared with his length of body.

He has nice bone and it looks like his legs are straight. He has a nice short cannon bone and good pasterns. The conformation of his withers is very good and he should hold a saddle nicely.

Overall he is a nice using type horse. He probably rides smooth and is fairly quick to handle. He probably also is a quick sprinter.

Thanks! Yeah, they have our driveway sloped down so he's downhill a bit in this pic. Doesn't help that the flattest part of our land is down by the creek and it's knee high grass there right now. If I can get some new ones of him I'll put them up.
I knew his loin is long, his neck is probably shorter in the pic then it actually is since he has it raised up a little, and he does like to stand camped out when I take pics of him (don't know why he doesn't always stand like that). His tail starts about 2 or 3 inches down from the top of the white. It is difficult to see that and many have said that he has a high tail set, but I think they were thinking his tail started at the white.
He is wonderful under saddle and just loves to get out and go for rides, I have recently started training him for barrel racing and he took to it like he's been doing it his entire life! We have been working slow though, so as to not burn him out or make him 'hot'. We trail ride alot and we've also been trotting more then anything to bring his topline up.
Thanks again!
Any more?
