Hi from Sweden!

Hello! Well, since I just registered I thought it’d be a good idea to post something here My name is Pauline and I am from Sweden ( Which is the reason to why my English is far from perfect). I found a link to this site via another forum and found it really interesting, so I decided to register. I am currently studying Environmental Science at a University over here and will be doing so for the next 2 years. I’ve a genuine interest in anything genetics-related and really enjoy learning about equine colours/patterns and what causes them. I can in no way say that I’m some sort of expert, although I feel that I’ve got a pretty good grasp of the basics by now. I’ve got an Arabian gelding – a nice little endurance horse (currently in dressage training though due to too poor health for endurance riding). Homozygous grey (got him tested, just for fun) born chestnut with pretty minimal markings, so nothing extremely interesting colour-wise (or conformation-wise for that matter…) I suppose:P I’m not that active on other forums, but do have accounts on Deviantart.com – colourize.deviantart.com and colourize-stock.deviantart.com Well, it’s nice to finally have signed up here, and I’m hoping for a lot of interesting reading! 

Hello and welcome! Just so you know, I was born and raised in the US of A and my English is far from perfect plus your English is better than my Swedish so no worries about all that
If you have any images that you think would be good examples for our gallery, please feel free to let us know. We are always looking to add to the galleries.

Colorize - I recognize your name from your amazing stock on Deviant art. Used it a few times for reference. Welcome!

Monsterpony: Hehe, thanks, that’s good to know!;)
Oh, I have a heap that I could upload. But what kind of horses would you like to have featured in the gallery? Only those with interesting or in some way a bit special colours/patterns, or pretty much anything – including plain chestnuts and other “simple” colours?

Sunwolf: Oh, thanks a lot! I’m so glad to hear that you found my photos useful!:)

Welcome ltz :newbie I so enjoy talking to those from other countries and cultures to get their theories, perspectives and ideas. I am Critterkeeper and I live along the Blue Ridge Parkway area of northern North Carolina. My husband is an over-the-road truck driver so he is gone most of the time (11 days out of 14), but I have help here (son and daughter-in-law keep up the lawns and help feed daily, close friend Matt and farmer neighbor Paul help hay and with mare watching ).

We have Quarter Horses...a cremello stallion; mares: a dark chestnut (often mistaken for bay, due late June) and 2 sorrel QH, a bay w/sabino retired rodeo bucking horse, a bay Paint (50/50 white - all QH lines; and the palomino offspring: 2 yr old dark golden, yearling Isabella, and a 1 month old - all fillies. We also have a newborn (a week tomorrow) colt (our first colt out of this stud - he has produced 11 fillies in 3 seasons). No buckskins yet but the Paint and other bay are expecting May/June. Oh, and I almost forgot our 20 yr old sorrel gelding.

And we love photos here....get down right giddy, drooling over the lovely horses :love (dogs, cats, rats, and the occassional fish) :rofl
