So she is DWxDW parents? Can you get her tested to see if she carries both forms of DW?
You know I don't know. Is she DWxDW and could I get her tested for both forms for DW?

I never really got that far into the details of DW and I could use some teaching :)

Arctic Cielo is out of the Airdie Apache line correct? I believe that is one of the known DW lines. What is the breeding on the dam? I assumed DW based on her appearance. If I were you, I'd contact the DW researchers (at Cornell??? I think) and see if they'd be interested. It is hypothesized that DW is homozygous lethal (embryonically so wouldn't survive to foaling), but I don't think there has been much breeding of two different types of DW to test that hypothesis.

Saton pedigree is here http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/index.p…

She is out of Timely Purpose and by Sato

Rodeoratdogs - that mare like to stick her tongue out at me all the time. I think I have 2 other photos of her doing it.

I am going to try to keep with photos of her this year, see if her white/brown lace markings change at all.

I can't remember which DW mutation Airdrie Apache (or if it has been published/found yet), but Puchilingui is DW5 so this foal is defintely DWxDW. Very cool. Both the DW mutations she could have have been seen to cause this much white so I personally can't tell which on she has.

So sweet. :love

I wonder which DW mutation she has??? Maybe both! I'd LOVE to see her future offspring. They would tell 4 sure.
