Found this forum in a link!

I don't own a horse---don't even have a horse pic, and my usual avvy is too small. So: hand-knitted socks. I went horse-crazy at a young age, then forgot about it until sometime last summer when I started watching races again. Then I stumbled across some other equine color info and was, like, "Ooo, I never knew they came in such purdy colors!" I'll probably just lurk and try to learn all I can about equine color genetics.

Welcome to what I'd consider one of the foremost sites for equine color genetics in the world. We have members from all over the world and enjoy hearing their stories...abet if its about horses, dogs, chickens, llamas, etc. You don't have to own a horse to love a horse and all horse lovers are welcome (or dog lover, or scholars, or just curious...etc - we love everybody  except spammers |( ).

Daylene is right (Admin post above mine) about how to get notices. They will start arriving in your email almost immediately. Also if you see the numbers in parenthases - for example: (3 new) click on that and it will take you straight to the newest post so you don't have to sort through several pages of post you have already read.
Thanks.

Actually I do own a horse: a Breyer warmblood! I even think I have her pic somewhere...

This forum interface is a little different from most, and I could use some help.

How do I make it so I automatically get emails when one of my topics gets a reply?

And will that take me right to the topic? *is confused*

I am enjoying the Horse Gallery! Especially the movie horses. I just saw a film 'starring' Koko, no kidding.
Oh I own lots of Breyers, saved them from when I was a kid, that's all I would play with besides my real pony. I didn't like dolls unless they had real jointed knee's and hips like Johny and Jane West, they had to ride or they were no good.

Welcome Welcome! Sorry I just now saw this, I'm not used to the new forum myself, haha!
Love the socks! I have knitted a few scarves and things, I want to start doing hats, but it's daunting, haha!

Thanks some more!

I love the movie gallery. I was watching an old movie last night (The Story of Ruth) and there was a liver flaxen in it.

(I think that's what they're called... orange mane/tail...near-black body)

He didn't get any billing, though. ;p

Welcome to the forum! ^_^
I take it from the name that you are an anime fan as well?

And you're right, liver flaxen chestnut.

Yup, I am.

Thanks. Also a fan of liver flaxen chestnuts---I so want to see the rest of that movie in case the horse shows up again. :rofl

I'm a fan of the livers as well, with or without flaxen. To bad we don't understand the genetics behind it. It seems to be quite hard to reproduce except in lines that have been breed for it like some Arabian. My dad's old liver stallion (QH) had 30 or so foals most of whom where chestnut but I only remember 2 that were also liver.
