Due to decreasing use over the years, I have decided to disable the forum functionality of the site.

Forums will still be available to view but new posts are no longer allowed.

Changes coming to the site

I'm going to have to make some changes to the site. Some of the modules that were being used to integrate the forum and gallery to the main pages are no longer being maintained and were the cause of some the forum hacks we had in Nov. As a result I've separated the forum from the main site pages but I really don't like having to do this. Right now I'm researching options but this is some of the things I've learned so far. Drupal 7 (we currently use drupal6) is really nice and much easier to use but just released and has no bridge for phpBB(our forum) or the photo gallery software I use. Joomla (another content management program) has a really nice bridge program for phpBB and but isn't as flexible as drupal and also lacks a gallery bridge. I may end up migrating the forum to the native Drupal 7 forums IF I can modify them enough to suit our needs. I also may import the gallery into Drupal 7 also again IF I can get things to suit me. I've even considered turning the main part of the site into static html and having the gallery and forum separate but this had its own problems. While I'm doing all these changes I plan to inplement a multisite configuration (much harder to do with just phpbb) and migrate things to http://www.colorgenetics.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I want to add a cat site and a dog color site and possibly (eventually) a chicken site as well. The horse site will be equine.colorgenetics.net and the dog canine.colorgenetics.net etc etc. These changes will take a while to get implemented (think months) but some changes WILL be comming and knowing how some of you hate change :booty I wanted to warn you in advance so you can start preparing yourself. I'll post updates as things go along and will try to get a demo site up and running before I do a final implementation.

Please tell me you changed the text after I commented as it does look easier to read. If you changed it before I commented, ignore my comment. I had bad sinus yesterday ;)
