What do you use for fly control?

I need a safe spary for around the barn. Not for the horses but the actual barn and stalls. I can't believe fly season is here already! :BH

I use multiple items for fly control - everything from basic sprays to fly traps (yes those ugly jugs do work, as long as you clean them out and refill often)...and if you really don't care what the barn looks like those nasty fly strips work too...I've even caught an occassional mouse with one... :o

I use the strips too, they do get a lot of flys on them. I don't have a huge fly problem, more mosquitos than flys and I have to cover Annie with a fly sheet because she is really allergic to bites.

Have you tried using the monthly spoton applications to keep flies/mosquitos away? I use those too...You can get a box of 3 tubes for under $13. It works on flies, fleas, ticks and mosquitos....just a thought.

Edit: Oops, was thinking of the doggie spoton that lasts a month...horsey spot on is only for 2 wks....BUT you can also buy a 6 pk of Freedom spoton for under $25....think of it as protection for less than $9 a month.

I just ordered some pymethrin spray for the stalls.
I don't know why, but certain stalls in the barn are infested with flys while others have none. It's weird. I wonder if the evil horses are the ones with the infested stalls. LOL.
