Re: Article on Slipped Tobianos in PHJ
It's a great article and they mentioned you. One of the things they said that was interesting is that when one parent is solid and the other is a mininmal tobiano, then that is when you oftened get the slipped very minimal tobiano's. Doc's Sire is a solid as in not a stitch of white QH and his dam was HZ but minimal tobiano.
That's what they are trying
That's what they are trying to figure out, my gelding is now part of a study at Stevenson university by Dr Susan Youngren.
He has one solid parent (no white) and his dam a minimal HZ tobiano. They are trying to figure out if that has anything to do with it. One other thing the article mentioned is that they (the researchers) were wondering if it had anyting to do with KIT.
It's a interesting article, and soon as a online version is available we will post it here. But it still is probably available in some tack shops, I know mine carries it.
Here is the picture of my gelding they used in the article, he just has that one very small spot on his neck, other than his socks. He also has the ermine and distal spots on his socks that are part of a suppression theory. ACC can explain that better than I.
