Who's expecting foals in 2011?

Forums

I know a lot of us are expecting foals this year, but nobody had started a thread yet, so here goes: I have 4 QHs and a Paint due this spring, all sired by Luna, cremello with sabino, so won't be too many surprises - all will carry cream. This will be the last year for foals by Luna as he is gonna go visit the vet next month - much to HIS dismay! First due is Maya due March 1, a sorrel carrying frame and minimal sabino, so will have another pali foal but hoping for some white this time (remember Goldie is a solid). Next is Destiny due March 19-24 (based on the week she went through 2 sets of fences to get into Luna's pasture - she spent too much time with Valley, learning her evil tricks), sorrel with splash white so another pali but hoping for another star and those nice boots like Destiny has. Samatha due March 30-April 3, bay carrying sabino, this is one foal I am anxiously awaiting - my first buckskin (maybe, as I don't know if she is EE or Ee... ) Patches due April 27-May 1, bay Paint carrying frame, splash white and sabino, so hoping for a highly colored buckskin - YOU KNOW I am on pins and needles waiting this foal...told hubby to take vacation because I got the foaling hut all ready for nightly "naps".... :pop Last but not least is Valley due May 25-June 1, dark chestnut carrying sabino. I am hoping for a darker pali this time, but if I get another Isabella like Delight with her beautiful big star, I won't complain...lol. I had intended to let her take the year off and breed her this spring to a nice Hancock-bred blue roan, but she nipped that in the bud - :BH So now THAT plan in on hold for another 2 years

First up for me is Slaney -Palomino although most likely Dunalino in foal to Banner who is Buckskin (hetro for Agouti, Black and Red) She is due May 17th. I would love a dilute filly.

Next is my maiden mare Shimmer (Homozygous Black and Hetrozygous SB1) in foal to Banner due May 27th although she did show a season mid August so that could put her at July 18th but she was only in a couple of days so I am going to work off the May Date - would love a Buckskin Filly

Shimmer

Both in foal to Banner

And finally (fingers crossed she can go the distance) is Rosie and she is due Sept 8th and I believe her to be Homozygous Black and Sunny is Chestnut carrying silver and homozgous Agouti so would love a Silver Bay Filly with a blaze and socks

Banner how do you put up so many pics ? it only lets me do 3
You need to upload the photos to a photo-sharing site (photobucket.com for example) and then post links to the images rather than uploading them as attachments directly onto the forum.

We're semi-expecting a foal in 2011--we've test-bred Bubba (solid bay Wap Spotted colt) to Misty (deemed by Sheila and Rebecca most probably LpLp when they inspected her), who is also Princess' dam.

NZ Appaloosas Wed, 01/19/2011 - 20:46

Since Misty is a roaned out hip blanket, anything more than that is going to have to be a Bubba contribution. Would be nice to have a full leopard out of her since that'd prove he's got Patn1 from his dam, which would give him a check in the "keep the goolies" column. But man, it's funny how breeding one mare can sure thicken up that neck and make a boy suddenly all "stalliony" in looks! I was gobsmacked at what seemed like an overnight change.

He's brown? he looks black, nice horse "nice feet". Really sad you lost that colt, he would have been a nice one.

EDIT:Ohhhhh no wonder I like him, I like pretty much all the horses in his pedigree, But he's is in far away land with you isn't he?
I'd breed to him in a heart beat. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/kehls+e…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Look closely at his flank and muzzle and you can see the brown.

I honestly can't see it on the muzzle, but I do see a smidge on the flank.

Yep Kehls Exy Acres is here in OZ, yipee!!! he is simply devine for a working bred horse, he throws big foals and can move like a cat plus is so lovley natured. Ive met him twice and im good friends with his woners now too :-)

and yes hes def a brown (i have pics where hes has a yellow muzzle but they are at home, im at work, naughty naughty :-D )

He is tested: EEAa and of course must be Rr as one parent isnt roan.

I got result back for my silver mare who is infoal to him, she is N/Z bugger but still it will be a beautiful foal to Exy! Shes about 15.2-15.3hh. She is also EeAa or AA (untested but had a chestnut to a chestnut)

dakotakdq Thu, 01/20/2011 - 21:50

He is also on facebook where there are heaps more pics of him :-)

im hoping to bred my red dun mare to him in 2012, really want a grulla!! She is eeAaDd so theres a chance I can get one! lol

Oh that would be super cool, I want to breed him to my red dun mare
Oh well My perfect stallion for Annie would be EE aa R and or DD. Annie is Ddeeaa so I would get a grulla for sure if I bred to a hZ black with DD and I like the black roans too.
This is who I think I'll breed her to so far he is EEDDaA so he has almost everything I want, I will get Dun for sure and 50% chance of HZ dun the only thing he has I rather not have is the one agouti gene, because I want grulla but the foal will still be black base and 50% chance of grulla.

I have one black shetland in foal to my taffy shetland
1 (or 2) shetlands in foal to my piebald shetland
Possibly two buckskins to the skewbald cob stallion
My Gypsy Cob mare didn't go in foal which I was very disapointed about
Oh and my buckskin warmblood cross mare to a Friesian (I loved the result of this mating a couple of years ago, still got him. Still not sure if I want to sell him, even though I don't usually keep boys)
Which I thought was plenty, but then I was silly enough to buy more three shetland mares!
One is a red dun, been running with a bay skewbald, one a red skewbald been running with a red skewbald. The last one a bay dun wasn't supposed to be in foal, but her belly is growing suspiciously large.. I think I might ask the previous owners about possibles there..

Happened to someone I knew--was supposed to be an arab x something horse, and out popped a long-ears. Mama was 'petrified' when baby first opened its mouth!!

I noticed that the man that owned the zebras and zedonks on the road into town has "upgraded" (or downgraded depending on your outlook :bounce ) to obvious Paints (one looks just like my Patches...lol)...too bad he gave up the zebras as I suspect a Painted Zhorse would be interesting.... :ymdaydream: ymwhisle
