Almost exactly what I wanted!

Minus the plumbing, but I'm not complaining ;) Yesterday I had a riding lesson scheduled, so I went outside to hook up my trailer. Saw my mare Ruby laying down, but that's normal for my minis in the afternoon, so I didn't pay too much attention to her (jsut two hours prior I gave her a good check over, didn't seem like she'd be foaling too soon). Hooked up the trailer, and back to the barn, looked in, and there was a FOAL!!! Half out of the sac, sternal and looking around! I told Ruby I wanted a silver black spotted appy with daddy's blue eye... I just wanted it in a filly version, but that's ok ;) So here is CheyAuts Write Out Loud, aka Sharpie! :) [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Sharpie/sharpie595-19-10…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Sharpie/sharpie525-19-10…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Sharpie/sharpie475-19-10…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Sharpie/sharpie445-19-10…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Sharpie/sharpie405-19-10…] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Sharpie/sharpie395-19-10…]

Thanks guys.

My poor little baby has a "melting corneal ulcer" in his brown eye :( We are medicating him constantly (3-4 different medicines!) and the vet said about 10% chance of saving the eye, and if we do, slim to none that he'll have vision in it :( But it DOES look a lot better now than when the vet saw it, so we remain hopeful!

Oh no! I hope he's in the 10%, but if not, Lipi's right. He'll be fine with the one! He and Lacy can be one-eyed buddies.

Thanks guys! His eye is a LOT better than when the vet saw him :) I'm not doubting he will be blind in it, but I'm more hopeful he'll get to keep it! :) So of course, I hope he'll ALSO get to have vision from it :)

Vet was out today to U/S a mare (Preggers, wahooo!!!) and had a look at Sharpie's eye. He was SUPER impressed with how well it's healing! :) He agrees, still unlikely to recover vision, but should heal well and be able to keep his eye :)

Thats great news that he might be able to keep his eye and who knows with such a good recovery he might still retain some vision.
Oh and what mare is in foal?
