Thankyou everyone.

I'm pretty happy with her to be honest.
It's a shame i can't breed this cross again as the sire was sold interstate.
I also have another filly by him (born 9 days later) but she's extreme horsey & plain bay/brown.
Very nice type though.

Firebrand.... it's sad though as it's a large horse brand, our branding day we use the mini brands on the mini's but when my OH took the brand off the heat, the actual "brand" fell off the handle! :BH
So had to heat up the big brand.
Luckily the numbers brands were mini sized, lol.

But i guess because we didn't leave the firebrand on as long as you would generally - it's not really "burnt" so once the scabs are gone it'll be hard to see & then we'll microchip. ;-)

I do not know where you are from. Is freezebranding unavailable in your location?

freezebranding is so much kinder?
Is it though?? We firebrand, the end result is nicer anyway than the white marks!
As horses can't talk, how do we know freeze is kinder than fire?
IMO neither are kind but they are a needed for Registration purposes - sadly.... but then again it's a visable form of identification which is a good thing.

I like fire over freeze as i don't like a white brand & plus if smudged (as freeze is left on longer than fire - which wouldn't be very comfy ;-) ), it'll look shocking!
We, when fire branded like to leave a permanet brand but on this filly & my other's branded that day, we didn't leve the brand on as long as you'd normally do as i wanted to microchip but had to brand first (long story, couldn't get vet out in time & needed Rego done ASAP).

Thanks guys. :toast
