Interesting horses...

You really should take a cruise through Barbara's other galleries. This mare is gorgeous. http://www.photoshelter.com/c/barbaradlivingston/gallery-img-show/Color…--" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and for those who like stripes. http://www.photoshelter.com/c/barbaradlivingston/gallery-img-show/Color…--" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.photoshelter.com/c/barbaradlivingston/gallery-img-show/Color…--" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Absolutely love the white horse with the black face, I have never seen anything like that, its like a bald face in reverse.

Errr, me too! I especially liked the grumpy palomino, the really stunning chestnut pony mare, and the underside of the jumping Appaloosa but maybe I'm biased. ;)

PS I just looked at that gallery and hahahahaha I got credited in the jumping pic but the rider didn't. Love it even more!
Horses in Living Color by Barbara Livingston
It's a "must have" for anyone interested in colors and patterns...and it makes one heck of a coffee table book (do they still call them that?)

Barbara is one of the most outstanding equine photographers in the country...the fact that several of our ladies are personally aquainted with the "Artist" herself, doesn't hurt either... :love

But then, ACC is working on becoming her number one rival ... You should go to her website and check out her pixs as well. Speaking of which, ACC, are you gonna do the "Derby" this year??? I need the inside scoop on a couple of horses...and it's only a matter of days now

Thanks, I'll have to see if I can find that, I did check out accs' website, she does have lovely photography, the TB photos are my favorite.

Danni Mon, 04/26/2010 - 23:01

I must admit racing pictures aren't what holds my interest for long. So I doubt I'd buy her other books, but both her and Acc have some awesome pictures that I still like to look at, TB's or not!!

accphotography Mon, 04/26/2010 - 23:24

I do.

Racing shots can get boring, I'll admit. But Barbara does way more than racing and her other books are just as awesome.

ooh! and the partial blue eye on the Appaloosa foal, and the fuzzy-butt spotted blanket 2 page spread are of my little bugger, Gambol. Barbara is not only a fantastic photographer and personal inspiration, but she is such a nice person to boot! I'd have her out anyday, taking pictures or not. 100% recommend the book.

Sara-- was the rider the old roomate? did you guys have a falling out, which is why I'm guessing you are laughing? you don't have to answer, I know I'm a nosey person! :rofl

ACC, I so wanted to meet up with you while I was in KY, but we didn't have any time. Wish we could've stayed longer and visited for a bit. I would of loved to of met you and Lace! and the weather was sostrangee..

Yes, we had a falling out. Turned out she was a client stealer and I was the second trainer she'd done it to. We're all wise to her now and she's just riding at a nothing barn. Of course that means she has no place to teach the clients she stole so they ended up at a barn riding with a friend of mine. They started right out trying to badmouth me but the trainer shut them up quickly with, "Sara is a friend of mine" and that's the last I heard of it.

Yall trainers are so funny. When you work together for the right reasons and shut the baddies out then it's awesome, but I'm just amazed at how many connections there are and how fast certain strings get pulled! I was just talking to a trainer friend of mine about some of her drama....stuff rivals any daytime tv shows!

Yep. The horse world is so very small and people who think they can trainer hop should keep that in mind. Some of the big name trainers don't care and figure the money is worth taking on the terrible clients (for however long they can keep them before they invariably get pissed off and go to the next trainer) but those of us who do it on a small scale pass this type of info along to our friends so we don't end up falling for the same client bullsh**. I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall when my friend cut off my old client who was standing there trying to badmouth me.
