Another Toby filly

Forums

This is Toby's second foal of 2010. She belongs to a friend of mine in Texas. The mare, DREA Sarcee's Secret, is black with a spotted blanket. Last year she had a solid black stud colt by a black leopard stallion. She was bred back to my bay fewspot, War Toby's Nightwind, and this is what she had. What unusual markings ... the ears, legs and the 'armpits' of her "bendy-bits". I really like the shadowing on her face. Is she a bucky?

I am so slow. I kept wondering why you were saying Toby when she's quite obviously not!

Really gorgeous btw!

I got rid of the other one ;)

She's a black fewspot. No cream, not pinto. The dark spots are exactly typical of fewspot foals.

I also opened this thread thinking I'd be seeing a tobiano filly....then upon reading realized Toby is the sires name! LOL

Very nice filly! She is a doll!

Thanks for the help, Jenks!

I'm pretty sure she's a bay fewspot. Her owner said that the armpit and flank areas looked bay. Toby (the sire) is a bay fewspot. He was sold to me as a black, but the few spots that he has (two or three) look bay to me. Oddly enough, he's registered as a dun. Both foals born this year have been bay. I think I'll have him tested to see if he's homozygous bay, just out of curiosity.

Gorgeous! Toby is putting out some nice foals!! I like how the front feets have those black bits on them. Reminds me of that perlino Gypsy I posted pictures of with the chocolate feet. They both have those points to the marking.

AppyLady, I'd get her tested...the mare we have that's coloured (the parts you can see, not the pattern) just like her tested out EeAa, after spending most of her life being called black! LOL

And her daughter, Princess is as "black" looking as both sire and dam, both of which are bay.
