Anyone heard of a "Pintabian"?

I was just watching rural tv and there was a programme about Ravenwood Arabians and I`m totally inlove with Ravenwood Monee...such a beautiful black bay arab. But the most interesting thing is they had a red and white arab, well they said he was 128th arab (whatever that means) and was also a registered "pintabian" Has anyone else heard of a pintabian? They even had a frame overo and a palomino with perfect arabian characteristics!! Georgeous!!!

A "partbred Arab" here, in our registry, is any animal with more than 12 1/2 % registered Arab blood.
It can go on ad infinitum, it never becomes a "Purebred"

Anglos are any cross of Arab and TB, no other blood allowed, in any percentage.

But it isn't an Arab, that is the whole point of the word "Purebred"!
It never will be an Arab, so what is the point of breeding them that way??

Because the more "Arab" the part-bred looks, the more likely it is to do well in the show ring, plus the whole "have to breed back to a pure" rule.

And THIS is why I don't show on the breed circuit. (ANY breed circuit)

Well, remember that point of view is American, and there is actually a "rest of the world" :booty
In Europe the Part Breds actually look more like small TBs than Arabs, a flashy part bred would not get anywhere as they are shown plaited.
I do actually like the idea of a Pinto section of the Part Bred book, but keeping it all under the Part Bred umbrella, so it does not matter if it comes out solid.
I like the way our Pinto ponies are going now, Welsh only needed a little nudge to become Pinto, so the smaller ones all look Welsh, the large ones look TB, there is room in the middle for an Arab type, I think....
