clarification on silver

In the silver album there is a picture of a buckskin (appearing) mare, the caption says she is silver. Her name is Rosmel's Golden Wonder. I thought silver diluted the mane and tail of black based horses? Hence a sliver bay is reddish body with silver mane and tail. Thank you for explaining.

Likewise with the other horse??

and no, both pictures at the very top are the most recent ;)with the horses stabled at night and let out by day, thus illustrating my suspicions.

Where are recent pictures of RGW? I can't find any.

You ask for a buckskin foal who looked palomino at birth... we found one. Now you don't know what it has to do with anything?

If you know what photo is the most recent and if the horse is being kept in or out... how do you not know if it's dyed? ;)

What you've seen if RGW is what everyone has seen. I don't know that there is anything more recent. He's not that old.

Fledgesflight Sun, 03/21/2010 - 23:17

I never asked for a Buckskin born looking "palomino"- I asked for a frosted Buckskin of around 6 weeks (and older) looking "silver"...to which I found that the filly that RMT posted doesn't make me think Silver, even with her birth colour. Take her mane out of those plaits and it will be very obvious- along with her tail.
More so in a still shot.

It's conveniently black for a show?;)

Umm hello? Earth to Fledges?

That IS her with her mane UNPLAITED standing STILL right next to the shot of RGW. Ummm... looks identical to me, but maybe I'm blind.

So you're saying you know it's been dyed?

Ya know what Fledge? I'm just not going to bother. Even if I found exactly what you were asking for (and I did) you STILL wouldn't be happy with it (and aren't). I'm done, you're not worth it.

accphotography Sun, 03/21/2010 - 23:35
Good, because I thought we were long done with it before.
Why because it was left on a note that you felt agreed with you? Funny how you're happy for it to end when what you asked for is produced. *sigh*

Whatever.

Fledgesflight Sun, 03/21/2010 - 23:46

LOL I never said it wasn't frosting on the filly, just I don't think that she could be mistaken for Silver from the photo's provided. As far as RGW I guessed Buckskin, as (back then) only adult photo's were given.

Whoa whoa whoa! I haven't a clue really what everyone is arguing about, what the acronyms are for and really what is going on, but can we all calm down a little. If you all want to sling snide comments, please do so in PMs because I honestly don't want to have to get in the middle of this and really don't have the time. So please either keep your comments polite or keep them to yourselves/PMs.
Gee thanks Jenks & Fledge :flower
Can't wait, he has two mares in foal due later this year, one is bay & one is bay silver.
Will be very exciting to see his bubs.

Here are a couple of pics, just took a bit of video the other day in the rain, could make it in to a youtube clip if anyone is interested.
It is just paddock footage though.
One thing is good, even in our hot Ozzie sun he has not faded in the slightest over summer.

One to show body colour

Another of mane colour, nothing silver about his mane at all,
it is reddish.

Holy moly. No disappointment here!!!! Thanks! Please do not forget to post pics of his get!!!!!!!

Pics of a silver buckskin mare and colt I rescued. I just thought I would share his change of coat colour compared to that of his mother.

!!Need the experts to return!! a silver bay or sooty pally? What breed?

Dilutes Thu, 03/25/2010 - 10:49

Hi
I've seen that colt & mare and another, a silver bay advertised for sale. Could you post some pics of the silver bay? The pics on the sale site weren't very clear. So they are rescue cases, do you know their breeding?

Do you reckon sooty pally? I see silver buckskin, cool to see colour changes too.

accphotography Thu, 03/25/2010 - 18:29

I think so, yes. If not he may be a brown base instead of her bay base. But they're both malnourished and that can greatly effect color.

Hey What The Fri, 03/26/2010 - 02:40

I had both Bubbles & Squeak tested cos I had no clue what they were lol, both are:

Ee Aa nCr nZ

Squeak (the colt) is not in the best condition due to us just coming out of drought and still picking up, Bubbles is actually in really good condition but has very poor conformation which always makes her look bloody awful. I believe it is a result of being severely malnourished as a youngster. I have attached a before pic so you can see what I mean.

I have also put up a pic of my silver bay mare 'Mira' also a previous drought striken rescue. Just for interests sake, I'll post both her before and after pics. Oh and I probably should mention that I have not had her tested but to me she appears to be a silver bay.

accphotography Fri, 03/26/2010 - 08:53

YOWSERS!!! I see what you mean now. Is her coat always so flat looking? I suspect you may be right about that malnourishment while young bit.
