Arctic Cielo has found a new home - our place!

I don't think I told everyone here but Arctic Cielo (Max white TB stallion) has found a new home at our farm. He has been at our place for about 5 weeks or so. In that time we have found him a new rider, a new training barn (looking to go Hunter this summer), took him to an Open house in our area, and showed him off at our used tack sale. I am pretty sure some people came to the tack sale just because they had heard we had Cielo at the barn. I wish there was a way to delete all the old photos of him so the only one out there are the fully grown ones we are getting of him now. But I can't.... so I think I will just have to flood the net with new photos ;) Here are the photos I got of him on the weekend. And yes he was bathed on Friday, wrapped up in blankets and legs wrapped... but he is so far better at getting messy then we are at keeping him clean. But we will get better :rofl [img]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/AdellEquine/Cielo/Feb27th009.jpg…] [img]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/AdellEquine/Cielo/Feb27th048.jpg…] [img]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/AdellEquine/Cielo/Feb27th054.jpg…] [img]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/AdellEquine/Cielo/Feb27th082.jpg…] [img]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/AdellEquine/Cielo/Feb27th132-1.j…] I am too hard on myself (this I know) but I do hope I am on the right track to getting better photos. Conformation shots are not always my best work... we like moving shots so much better :)

Well, he looks well enough in the snow, but I do NOT envy you getting him ready for a show!!!
My favourite animal ever to prepare has to have been Amira, who was a mahogany bay Arab...no plaiting as she was purebred, only two little socks and he blaze to keep clean= Heaven!!!
No more Greys, no more CrCr, and definitely NOMax. Whites for me, EVER!!! :rofl

Heidi - We call him Cielo at the barn.

vneerland and Jenks - Thanks!

rabbitsfizz - We are so lucky :) But really we did hit pay dirt with the training barn he is going to. They have a heated wash stall! And to top it off they will bath him as needed (all the time) included in the board!

lipigirl - I sorta forgot... and it worked out well anyways. With me forgetting to post here I was able to post when I had some new photos.

Gorgeous Boy - congrats and best of luck keeping him clean :flower
I used to ride out a Blood Bay TB Gelding and he was such a gent - never rolled except twice a yr. He was so easy to keep and the shine off him would dazzle you. Anyway I was getting him ready for a race and he was looking super fantastic and was quietly confident of even winning best turned out.
He was let out for a few hrs the day before the race and he decided it was one of those annual roll days and OMG he was filthy and it was too late to bath him that evening and even with all the grooming he still didnt look as good he did before the roll - I could have cried. I never saw him roll again after that till the following yr

You had me curious and I searched for old images. Found some from Barbara Livingston (Gander on this list, right?) and that was nothing to be ashamed of. (Naturally. We know the quality that she represents) 8-)

I love her stuff. Not just of Cielo but any of her photos.

The one I was more thinking about is this one - its of him as a young boy and I think the angle is off. But he sure is white in this photo ;)

Good to see him barefoot! You might want to invest in a slinky with a belly wrap! My cremello mare has one, as she will stay clean in a pasture but for a little bit of belly, hock, and whither green. But take her to a show and she will put a manure pile print on each cheek and get it in her mane and on her face and where the saddle goes and...
